Never go to this hotel again and to Skiathos again, staff so rod, room very dirty, food disgusting, we booked half bored, but we surprise by there service, they served like ordering from restaurant, not buffet, please don't book your holiday at this hotel, and don't book with Thomas Cook,

We got a good last minute deal on the Plaza so, having read the reviews, we emailed the hotel and requested an upgrade to a room with a sea view. For this we were charged an extra 20 Euros per night, which we thought was rather excessive. We tried to strike a deal with Costas, the young man on reception, for the safety deposit box to be included, but his attitude was not very obliging and we were charged a further 4 Euros per day.
However, we did get a lovely big room with a large balcony and upgraded bathroom with walk in shower and plenty of storage space, but the beds were extremely uncomfortable with very lumpy mattresses. Our room fridge wasn't working properly so we reported it to Costas and he had it repaired for us, and nothing was said about it being used it for our own drinks.
There was a lift, which was frequently out of order, but we were happy to use the stairs.
Breakfast was plentiful but not particularly appetising, but it was sufficient to set us up for the day.
The pool bar was great with excellent cheerful service from Lefti and Vladis, We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant on the terrace, so cannot comment first hand, but very few people seemed to eat there and it was quite pricey.
We only used the pool a couple of times. It was adequate but could benefit from some upgrading and nicer sun loungers.
The location of the hotel for Kanapitsa beach and Taverna was excellent, but it was quite remote from other facilities. The main road was a good 15 minute walk away along an often steep and badly lit side road; but there, from bus stop 12 it was only 1.6 Euros to Koukounaris beach at the far end at stop 26 and Skiathos town at stop 1. The nearest supermarket and Johnny's restaurant were just before the main road. Other than that we either walked a good 20 minutes along the main road to Green Park Restaurant or Infinity Blue, both excellent, of caught the bus or water taxi to Skiathos town for our evening meal.
All in all we had a great holiday with glorious weather and we met some lovely people, but it is a shame that the Plaza owners have not made the most of their hotel. New beds, free Wi-Fi, greater variety of food at breakfast, the occasional Barbeque or Quiz night are just some suggestions that spring to mind. The hotel is now closed for the Winter and hopefully, some more refurbishments.

Room Tip: Most British Tour operators only offer Standard rooms in the Annex, try to arramnge for a sea view roo, if possilbl,.before you go.

We arrived at the hotel around seven thirty at night time, we were greeted by a surly young man, who really did not want to be there, he was rude and unwelcoming. His attitude did not change at all during our stay;my husband nicknamed him clipboard nazi.
It is a worn out hotel with a tired swimming pool which might as well not be open as it was surrounded by a net, which made it unwelcoming and it felt out of bounds to use, The surrounding area had cushions for lounging and sunbeds with very dirty padding.
We stayed ten days and went to use the pool at the hotel up the road. The hotel itself is unloved and needs major renovation to bring it up to date, not to mention the beds that have massive dips in the mattress' from years of use.
The positive is that the area is outstanding for natural beauty and sea views.
The breakfast was served by friendly staff but was nothing special, the only saving grace for the hotel was the free airconditioning.
There are many better and more comfortable hotels and studios to stay in Skiathos.

I am sure this hotel was lovely when it was opened in the 70s as a four star, but todays society i would rate it only as a 2 star. Been going to greece for over 20 years so i have lots of experience to look back and rate this hotel.. There are 2 other hotels in Cape Kanapitsa and if i go back i will stay at one of these instead.

The Plaza is situated only 2 minutes walk from the lovely Kanapitsa beach from where you can catch a water taxi to town for €4 per person. The last water taxi back from town in September was at 22.30. Alternatively there is a 15 minute walk up hill and down dale to bus stop 12 from where you can explore all the south side of the island for €1.60 per person. We went with Thomson's and our luggage was delivered separately which was a bit of a nuisance.

We were on the 2nd floor of the annexe which does not have any lifts. Our room was large with a decent sized bathroom. We were impressed by the amount of storage space and shelving available. We had a private balcony with an unexpected sea view. Our room was spotless throughout our visit. There was a mini bar with water supplied but we didn't like the signs saying you could not use it for your own drinks. However we brought wine back to the room every night and no one said anything.

Breakfast was served on the 4th floor of the main building and it had beatiful views over Kanapitsa Bay. Unfortunately in September there were too many wasps around to make it comfortable to sit outside. The lift didn't always work so it was a bit of a slog up to the top floor.

Breakfast was repetitive but was ok with a mixture of hot and cold options available. The toaster was very slow and we thought the bread was a bit tough.

The pool area always looked clean and although there weren't many sunbeds, there always looked to be some free. The bar staff at night were excellent and on the occasions we stayed for a drink there was a good atmosphere.

The Wifi was extortionate at €5 for 90 minutes.

Overall a good hotel for a lazy holiday by the beach but not ideal if you want to spend late nights in town.

I stayed in this hotel from the 1st to 8th Sept 17. On arrival my friend & I were given a room in the annexe. This has no lift & we had to climb 4 flights of stairs with our suitcases. The rooms were very tired & basic like student accommodation. We had no view at the back apart from a bush. The beds were not good & my friends bed had springs poking through. The bathroom needs modernizing. What I would say is the room was spotlessly clean throughout the week. The sheets were not changed & the towels are of a poor quality. The next morning we went for breakfast & I was shocked to find tinned fruit & 2 toasters that were totally uselexs servicing guests. My friend & I spoke to the manager & she put toppers on the beds which resolved the bed issue & did after 4 days offer us another room but it was by the bins so we opted to stay put. The breakfast needs looking at & fresh fruit needs to be introduced. The location of the hotel is great & this is what attracts repeat customers. The pool area is poor. It's fenced off & not appealing at all. This hotel could be fantastic but I'm afraid it needs refurbishing & the menu's need changing. The staff work hard & did try hard to please. Each room has a fridge but you are told not to use it for personal use. If you choose this room go for a sea view front room. Don't choose the annexe.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms
