This is a charming little house stone-built in the Peloponnese style. It has beautiful views across to Keri Beach and Marathonesi Island (turtle island). Inside there are two upstairs bedrooms (have to say, sadly, that the beds were pretty hard!) and a bathroom, all thoughtfully furnished in Greek style.
Downstairs is all one big room, dining at one end, comfortable settees in other end, with doors leading to patio area. Kitchen set off to one side, with an island divider and most modern appliances. Outside there are extremely comfortable chairs around one of the tables, and some basketweave chairs around another marble-topped table, so you have a choice of where to sit, should you still be in a wet costume.
Also downstairs there is a small shower room-cum-loo and washbasin; it is also where the washing machine is housed.
The pool is an extra-ordinary shape, I guess it is octagonal, but almost L-shaped. Very nice to swim in; my only thought was that the "shallow" end was probably 4' deep and would not be good for very small children. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool and some mattresses under the shelter of the patio if you wanted to lie on the beds.
The drive from the main road to the property is partly on a VERY unmade and typically Greek track so be prepared for a bumpy ride!
We were quite surprised at the "extras" which were to be paid on top of the actual rental, i.e. a welcome pack (20 euros), a linen change (£10) - which we misunderstood and thought that the cleaning staff would come and change the beds, whereas what they meant was that they left clean linen and you did it yourself! Also an "admin. fee" (£65), air conditioning (£25). We do appreciate that there are those who might prefer not to avail themselves of these items and so save around £116, but we found it confusing and thought perhaps it might more honestly be included in the rental cost. As it was, in the end we appreciated being left strictly alone for the whole fortnight and as there were only the two of us, the place didn't get particularly dirty.
We certainly had a lovely, relaxing holiday with plenty of swimming and enjoyment of the views (very starry nights meant leaving the curtains open to appreciate the stars!) Would recommend this house, but maybe best for a couple with two slightly older children? There was six of everything (chairs, etc.) and I think it would be a real squash for six adults.
