“A fantasitc, well presented family villa with excellent facilities”
Reviewed 3 September 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Well positioned to discover Western Crete, this villa offered excellent facilities to entertain a family with two teenagers. The owners were very welcoming and extremely thoughtful throughout our stay. Linen and towels were changed several times during the fortnight we stayed at the villa, with cleaning taking place at regular intervals. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of crockery, cutlery and gadgets. The terrace at the top of the villa offered fantastic sea and mountain views whilst lazing in the small pool up there. There were plenty of toys available for younger children, along with larger pool downstairs.
We made use of the mountain bikes that came with the villa and would recommend cycling to visit the oldest olive tree in a nearby village (Ago Vouvres) in the mountains. The bikes were also ideal for cycling to the nearby town of Platanias. Highlights for us included the walk down the Samaria Gorge (early start required to do this) and the boat trip to Gramvousa and Balos. The beaches at Falasarna and Elafonisos were sandy and worth a visit. Local beaches at Maleme were pebbly but a short cycle ride soon provided a more sandy environment in the direction of Platanias.
Overall the villa was a great place to stay and explore the area of Western Crete.
