Description: An atmospheric, cozy place and of the most popular gourmet hangouts of Heraklion, since 2000. All these years 'Parasies' -as was the original name of the restaurant- has been opening its doors to foodies in a smaller, intimate and beloved place. Our desire and goal is to combine classic nostalgic flavors and special blends even at the simplest dishes so that we can please every taste. It is a daily challenge and a great honor for us, when guests, as we like to call our customers, recognize and appreciate our culinary philosophy. The quality food, the finest wine labels and a coordinated team, make sure you feel comfortable while enjoying scents, flavors and authentic recipes and offer you and your guests an ideal suggestion for quiet lunches and lively dinners. *According to the Cretan dialect parastia or parasia has been the traditional way of cooking in Crete for many years. A fire was set between two parallel rectangular stones and a cooking pan was put above. Thus 'parasia' was selected as the name of the restaurant, where the open kitchen dominates as a trademark.

Cannot find a fault with this restaurant and would definitely return and would highly recommend
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly and must say the feta cheese was best I’ve eaten and same for the mushrooms, the wine recommended by our waiter was also very good and reasonably priced . Everything we had ordered was eaten and clean plates all round
If you visit Heraklion you must visit here !!

We were three and shared some of the appetisers and dishes. We were very positively surprised. The food was more tasty and cheaper than other tavernas of the same type. In addition the service was very friendly and we were offered dessert and some liqueur at the end of the meal. Definitively an address to try.

We’ve come to the restaurant relatively late around 10pm, as we did not plan to eat that evening but eventually we changed our mind. Maybe 70% of tables in the restaurant was free (Monday evening). Anyway, bottle of water was automatically served as a normal thing, we did not order it. Waiter was nice, polite. Do not expect briliant english but they can communicate. We ordered salad and lamb. Salad was the biggest salad ever, but this was the first salad ordered in Greece so we will see wether this is standard for all restaurants or this one is exception. Look at the picture I post...brilliant. Lamb was really really tasty. After that we ordered dessert (chocolate with icecream) very tasty. Price? 32 eur. Really good experience.

My girlfriend and I have been twice and might go a third time. This may be one of the best restaurants we've ever visited, and yet is unpretentious and with lovely staff and management. Portion sizes are intended for sharing, prices are reasonable, and everything the staff recommended us was killer. Don't stick to the modern items only, definitely try the traditional Cretan items.

The place is amazing for a restaurant and everything was looked after in detail.. from the lights till the lovely plates and glasses.

The staff was very attentive and friendly. They knew the menu and the wine list and made very good suggestions.

However, I was not impressed with the food.. the salad - called pandaisia - was almost tasteless, the bread was just ok, the steak was mediocre. Mushrooms were lovely and so was the talagani cheese. Pretty disappointed from the rather cold marathopita. Due to the setting and amazing wine suggested by the waitor, we had a lovely time and enjoyed our night. This is definitely worth it but I wouldn’t get too excited with the food.
