No visit to Chania, or indeed Crete, would be complete without a visit to the superb Italian Restauarant KARIATIS. We visited it 12 months ago and a return to Crete had to include a dinner at Kariatis. On approaching the restaurant, the sparkling white tablecloths and table napkins, tell you that this is just a cut above the myriad of restaurants in Chania, but surprisingly, the charges are very reasonable The welcome on arrival, by a charming and immaculately dressed lady, suggests that this is a superior restaurant and the fabulous menu selection does not disappoint. I had a sliced chicken.in the most gorgeous sauce and my wife had a sea bream, both of which were delicious and the service was prompt and efficient, despite a nearly full house. We were a party of 7 and everyone commented on the excellence of the food, the staff and the general ambience.
