I have seen my fair share of beer bars. Rudi's was the first one in Greece, though. We didn't know it existed, we just stumbled upon it and we HAD to enter because we couldn't miss a beer bar.
We planned to stay for 20 mins. We left after three hours and a half and came back three more times during our one-week stay in Chania.
Well, not only did we get to try amazing Greek craft beers, but we also learned A LOT about them and about international beers.
Rudi, the owner, is an encyclopedia of beer and he's happy to suggest the best beer for anyone. Whatever your favourite hops "poison" is, he'll have something amazing for you to try.
Do ask for suggestions, even if you fancy yourself a connoisseur. You'll be amazed.
We had an amazing time talking to Rudi about anything you can think of and I think his openness and honesty are what brought us back so many times.
We'll definitely be back in Chania and at Rudi's Bierhaus!
PS: I'm a nitpicker. I really am. I can find fault anywhere and, while I can ignore minor faults, I can always come up with suggestions to improve a restaurant, a bar or a hotel. This time, I am at a loss. There's nothing missing or "off" in Rudi's bar. I wouldn't change a thing!
