“Good location”
Reviewed 16 June 2010

I booked online through their web-site and was a bit surprised that my booking wasn't in place when I arrived. (The clerk just forgot to transcribe the booking). Best to double check during the peak-season. The hotel is well situated close to centre of Piraeus, the metro station and Island ferries. The room was OK (smoky smell which is still common in Greece unfortunately). Bed and shower / toilet were clean. TV and air-conditioning provided. The breakfast was good too. There didn't appear to be internet access on the 3rd floor, but found plenty of other wireless providers. The hotel is ideal if in transit between the islands due to its excellent location.

This hotel has obviously been redone since recent posts. The easy access to Athens - as well as the shops and sights of Piraeus itself - are certainly reason to stay here, especially if you have a departure from the port. If I couldn't find an inexpensive hotel in the city, I would certainly stay here again.

We stayed in room #69 (I believe) - a twin room on the 6th floor. Not surprisingly, the lift was very small, but the stairs were good exercise. The breakfast room is very nice, and breakfasts were fantastic - the Greek yoghurt and honey were a simple pleasure each morning.

Our twin room was spacious - with adequate room for our luggage as well. In the wardrobe were amazing down comforters that made my bed so comfortable I didn't want to leave! The desk staff were very friendly, even making sandwiches for our early morning departure.

Having driven to Athens, we parked outside Triton with few expectations. However, what a great find! It's a 2 min walk to the ferries, a 5 min walk to the Metro (20 mins and 1 euro to centre of Athens). We found secure long term car parking 2 mins walk away (9 euros per day or 130 euros for a month).

We didnt have bfast there but there are plenty of cafes and a great bakery in easy reach.

Rooms are functional with balconies although the outlook is onto a busy street/market. The bathroom is very small but clean.

There is a communal lounge with big TV and comfy sofas on the 2nd floor.

We could not think of a better location if spending a few days in Athens ahead of island hopping.

Having read some of the other reviews I'm not sure if they are writing about the same hotel. The room we had was spotless and tastefully decorated, the reception very friendly and helpful, the breakfast excellent, the location convenient to shopping, ferries and the airport bus, the price reasonable. OK, it's Piraeus not the Plaka, but there are a few good tavernas nearby and the hotel has opened it's own restaurant. There's a outdoor market just outside - interesting to view while eating breakfast. A find.

We stayed at this hotel because we had a early ferry to Santorini. As we did not booked before we had to walk a little to find something. These seem to be the best option at the street. Price was not so expansive and it's easy to reach the port. By the way, there was a lot of noisy at night, music, men and women talking, doors knocking. In fact it seems that the hotel is used by prostitutes!
I don't know if is like that all the year, maybe that's because it was low season. We became to be afraid and realize that all informations in the phone was in greek! As we were very tired, we just decide to pray and sleep! About midnight the noise stoped and we could finally sleep. By the way, nothing bad happened to us, but it was very scared.

  • Liked — Location (easy walk to the port)
