We approached this apartment with much optimism on our first trip to Athens. From the images presented, it looked marvellous and the view of the Acropolis from the apartment is truly memorable and utterly captivating.
However, there are some serious issues that we encountered. First was the washing machine which did not work. Despite the assurances of Costas that it would be / was fixed, it wasn't and presented a significant problem as we needed to wash clothes, having been in Europe already for six weeks and having come from an apartment where there was no washing machine.
Kindly, Costas offered to have the washing done for us, while the machine was "fixed". The downside was: not all of the clothes came back.
Not only did the washing machine not work, but also the stove would not ignite and although we would only have used it two or three times, the fact that we could not was another inconvenience.
The apartment itself is full of someone's possessions. For some, this might have a "homey" feel; for us it was a lot of junk to negotiate around; junk that did not appear, from the dust and cobwebs, to have been cleaned regularly. The balcony offered the greatest potential, being long and offering great views. However, the distraction was the numbers of dead potted trees, assorted junk and pieces of broken furniture around it. It made moving around the balcony hazardous - we both sustained deep scratches from the branches of dead trees and it added to the cluttered effect of the apartment, a sense of it being uncared for.
Our experience of this apartment was diminished by these negatives. It was a pity because the apartment has so much potential.
The area itself is grungy in a nouveau-chic way and it is, like so much of Athens, covered in graffiti. If this is your thing, you'll like it; if not, you'll find it distasteful. I found the entrance to the building, which is completely covered in graffiti, discomforting and it added a sense of menace to the area which, although not true, still contributed to a negative impact.

Beautiful apartment with a lovely view from the living room/balcony. Great location, surrounded by locals, not touristy. Lovely places to eat around as well.
The people from Boutique Athens were extremely helpful and lovely to talk to. Gave us a tour of the area and recommended local restaurants.
The wifi originally didn't work but it was sorted as soon as we brought it up with them.
The view from the roof terrace and apartment balcony is absolutely fantastic. Well worth it, and at a reasonable cost too. Within walking distance of everything you need/all tourist attractions and the metro if necessary.
Would 100% recommend this apartment and the company!
