Well our stay started out a little bumpy. My partner and I were given room 613 which did not seem very, lets say "FRESH". It had a slight smell of smoke and the air conditioner sounded like a generator. I called the front desk and the girl sent the maintenance man. He did not speak English very well so she translated and basically "this is the way the air is supposed to sound and to keep the fan on low, then it won't be so loud" Um, really? Not a good sign how this is going to go. In the morning the smoke smell got worse due to someone smoking next door. I went down to the front desk to complain and spoke to George (think thats his name). He was very friendly and apologized for the situation. He said he would try to find another room right away. I was skeptical, but sure enough, later in the day while we were touring, he called and said they had room 504 all ready for us. Turns out, that was a very FRESH room and we were pleased. And guess what, the air conditioning ran quiet, on high! It looked like a newer unit. From then on, it was a very enjoyable stay and we had a great visit to Athens. The rooftop deck is awesome and the restaurant is very good! I would give this hotel a 5, if it wasn't for that bump. The staff was great and I would stay here again.
