Very nice design-boutique hotel in the heart of Athens. It seems a jewel in a poor looking neighbourhood. after dinner we returned to the hotel walking and had no difficulties. Perhaps we were lucky?! But it is very centraly situated, very near Athinis between the Omonia square and the Monasteraki square and near by the City Hall and the Central Market. The cute and charming areas Psirri and Plaka are within waking distance.
Very efficient and helpful staff. The beds are very comfortable, nice bathroom with rainshower, splendid and extensive breakfast (all kinds of bread, fresh orange juice, etc...)
Unfortunately our last night was completely spoiled by very noisy and undisciplined young Russians, arriving drunk at 2 a.m. on our floor and behaving like wild animals.
Top floor with nice loungebar and a small but most appreciated swimming pool (certainly after strolling in hot weather through Athens). Magnificant view on the Acropolis. We would certainly choose this hotel again at a next visit to Athens.

Although it tries very hard to rise above it, as others have said, this class act is let down (only very slightly) by its location. It is in a rather gritty/insalubrious area, but not replete with drug users/drug addicts/prostitutes as others have suggested. At no time did I feel unsafe as I would have in similar areas in Australia or the UK (for instance). Just don't expect the hotel to be on a street similar to the Strand or Fifth Avenue. And nor does the hotel charge the prices of a hotel so located.

Again, as others have said the (standard) rooms are on the smaller side, but perfectly adequate unless you are morbidly obese and/or need to dance the foxtrot in your room. I found them to be nicely designed, with clean lines and although had vibrantly colourful touches, the decor was not over the top. Special mention also to the Korres bath/toiletry products.

The best features of the hotel are the pool and the attached Air Lounge bar/restaurant. The pool is, of course, overrun during the day with snoring Eastern Europeans (and Brits?) in the briefest of swimwear working on their Kentucky Fried tans so is best avoided until late evening, where you can take advantage of the lounges underneath the pool area and admire the cityscape with a glass of Metaxa after dinner.

The staff was professional and friendly and the reception staff in particular, always willing to assist and offer suggestions without being at all pushy.

Although I'm not a huge fan of buffet breakfasts generally, this was the best I had in Greece.

The hotel is fashionable and trendy. Everyone here wanted to be here. Hip couples, young families... Service was excellent and paved the way for a great impression of Greeks in general. Rooftop bar during sunset rocks and the view is amazing.

Only problem here has to be the size of the rooms and location. While the rooms are nicely done the size was a bit "too boutique". And while location distance-wise was excellent, its not exactly next to anything and at night the neighborhood seems desolate and dangerous. For example: front-desk suggested I take a cab rather than an 8-minute walk to the restaurant.

All in all was good, definitely above average, but coudl've been excellent.

Room Tip: I was lucky that rooms 710 and 810 have a view of the Acropolis. But if you don't get it don't sweat it. You can just go the the rooftop bar and get it just the same. Other than that all rooms are a bit tight, but nicely finished.

Pretty funky hotel built 10 years ago for the Olympics and showing a little bit of wear. Rooms are on the small side but that was OK and we aren't the type to spend a lot of time in the hotel. Reception staff were terrific, genuine people who really tried to be helpful - especially Elena.

The breakfast room and food really were terrific. Bright colours, clean, spacious.

The roof top bar is really neat and in warm weather the adjacent pool is welcome relief. The only grip is the drink prices are top end and out of keeping with what's around town in Athens.

Another disappointment are the rubberised sheets - pretty tacky and if the night is a bit warm doesn't make for a goodnight's sleep.

Levels 7 and 8 do offer some good views

While the area could be said to be a little edgy we never felt uncomfortable when in the street

Room Tip: If possible get rooms on the higher levels to get a view
