We stayed in the Airotel Parthenon at the end of May; this is an ideal time of the year to visit Athens as not too hot or overcrowded. This hotel is very close to the Parthenon, in a side street, so quiet at night. Simple rooms with en suites, basic but clean and fresh towels every day. Great Breakfasts with a good selection of cold and hot foods, to suit all tastes. Wonderful hotel staff, very willing to help all the guests.

We were there a few days ago, everything looked clean and the attention was good. However, at night we found garbage on top of the dumpster next to the elevator (it stayed there until the next day) and a plate of food outside a room. We entered the room ready to sleep and found bedbugs that came out from under the mattress, we managed to kill 6 but they kept coming out. They gave us another room with the promise that the next day they would check it out and give us more comments about it. The next day everyone did as if the problem had not happened.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel for its lack of cleanliness and seriousness.

We just returned from our visit to Athens. We stayed at the Airotel Parthenon for 6 nights. The location of this hotel is excellent! We were less than a block away from the Acropolis and we easily walked to all the amazing historical attractions of Ancient Greece from our hotel so we only needed a taxi once. It's also very close to the Plaka and many excellent little restaurants are a short walk away. The hotel is on a little side street so not many tourists walk down it which means noise was not an issue during our stay. Our room looked exactly like the pictures we saw on trip advisor. It was a somewhat spartan room by American standards but compared to other European hotel rooms I have stayed in other cities located in popular tourist areas, I'd say the room was good sized and we were happy with it. The bathroom was nice and clean. The air-conditioning worked. There was a nice little balcony. The TV had many channels and a couple channels in english. We requested an extra twin bed for my daughter to stay in the room with us and the hotel had that ready when we arrived. The staff were excellent! Very helpful. We booked our reservation through a third party and the airline had changed some of our flights and the hotel was very helpful in giving us recommendations to work through that. The front desk staff, housekeeping, and breakfast staff were all very friendly and helpful during our stay. Most of the visitors we saw at the hotel were from France, Spain or other European countries but the desk staff all spoke excellent English. Breakfast was included and we appreciated the wide variety of gluten free food options for breakfast. We found many gluten free friendly options available on the breakfast bar for breakfast including: hard boiled eggs, greek sausage, fresh red peppers, fresh melon fruit, canned peaches, yoghurt, cheese, sliced lunch meat, hazelnut spread, coffee, tea, juice, milk. There was cereal available but not sure it was gluten free so bring your own GF cereal if you have a child who likes cereal. There is also a small very nice corner shop on that street (turn right out of the main hotel lobby door and walk about 1/2 block to the corner) that has some gluten free chips, gluten free crunchy snacks and gluten free breakfast bars available for sale. I really am very happy with our choice of hotel for our first visit to Athens and I would definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

First things first.... if you are thinking of travelling to Athens and want to stay some place close by from all the historical places to visit then don’t look beyond Airotel, it is within walkable distance of almost all the ancient places. Also there are nearby supermarket and a lot of restaurants. Plaka which is one of the most happening places in Athens is Just 5 min walk from the hotel.
The hotel staff is very friendly and are always ready to help with any information possible. The breakfast which they serve is also decent.

Best location hotel by foot to everywhere. Rooms small and outdated. Noisy office in second floor slamming doors early. Walls too thin as u can hear your neighbor putting the water on and off. Cleanliness average staff very friendly. Safe needs key with ten euro deposit
