I am a frequent customer of this hotel's Aethrion all-day cafe and restaurant on the ground floor, but a friend invited me to the Roof Garden for lunch on her birthday.
The most amazing view of the Acropolis was my first impression, of which I took several photographs before even opening the lavish menu brought by a polite waitress. Then we got down to the business of making a choice, and it was VERY hard work picking something from all the wonderful fare on offer!
We finally settled on fresh grilled fish for the main dish, a sumptuous salad for starters and an absolutely mouthwatering chocolate mousse for dessert.
The fare lived up to its description in the menu, the waiter who served the fish knew his business of filleting a fish for two, and the whole service was up to the standards of a luxury hotel.
Since it was lunch, and we had to go back to work, we only drank sparkling water, but from what I could make out of the wine list, it's impressive!
However, a word to the wise: the prices are rather steep.
