I've reviewed this hotel several times and, at last, the stained corridor carpets have been replaced. There has been a steady programme of improvements at the Lince making this friendly hotel even better.
It is very well located at the junction of the Estrada Monumental and Rua de Casa Branca, in the heart of the Lido hotel zone - many shops and restaurants in the vicinity. We had a front-facing room with the recently refurbished Tiles Hotel facing us and with views of the sea beyond. Only a two-night stay this time as it was tacked on to our timeshare week elsewhere.
Usual warning: if you hate traffic noise, stay somewhere else.
Unfortunately, still some of the usual niggles. Tiny wall TV in the room with lousy sound quality; only one tiny rubbish bin in the bathroom, nothing in the bedroom; wall-mounted soap and shampoo dispensers (no individual bottles); no facial tissues.
One other thing: I wish they could get the breakfast waitresses to smile now and again - they look a thoroughly miserable lot.
Despite all that, we like the Lince as a value-for-money hotel in a good location and will certainly be staying there once again sometime in the future.More
