My wife and I were originally due to stay here at New Year but that trip got cancelled, One thing about the locations is its right in the middle of everything and would be a superb location at New Year as two main squares are at either end of the road.
We had noticed some comments about the size of the bedrooms but found them to be absolutely fine. Yes, not huge but enough storage space for our things and plenty of room to move around. Fridge and coffee facilities were good features.
Our room was on the first floor, facing the street and external noise was minimal thanks to the excellent glazing.
Staff were very polite during our stay. First night the reception staff helped fix a wifi issue on our tablets for us.
Breakfast was mixed and this is where the "little niggles" come in. The hotel is small, and therefore the dining area small. Normally this isn't a problem but if you get a sudden rush, space can be a problem. The food was varied. Both my wife and I found plenty of choice but there was 1 issue, again due to the size of the hotel. If you arrived when the hot food had been put out, you will have no problems..BUT the small number of guests meant it didnt need to be replenished very quickly and one morning it was cold when we arrived, but when replenished was absolutely fine. Both toaster and pancake maker were in full working order.
Within the reception area of the hotel is a small seating area, with a TV showing news channels. There is also a coffee machine for which you pay a small amount (standard coffee in the rooms were free and replenished every day).
We noted during our stay that building works is being carried out in the building next doors, and the hotel will be expanding. We had no issues with the works during our stay, and thinks the expansion may help with the breakfast room issues above (more space, and more guest for turnaround).
