We found this apartment fascinating. The artistic owner has put a lot of himself into it and the result is an apartment brimming full of books, records and fine pictures. It is a home, not a sterilised rental property and the owners belonging are all around you. Its position is central, minutes walk away from a busy metro station and right next to the Bica elevator. The famous 28 tram rattles past the door. The road is busy and noisy so not suitable for anyone wanting peace and quiet. It is on the first floor of a very old building so not suitable for people with disabilities. The bedroom is at the rear of the apartment and this is very quiet and extremely comfortable. We had free wi-fi and use of the owner's computer and printer, useful for booking in on-line and printing boarding passes. Kitchen is very small but adequate for what we needed. Bathroom was immaculate. We found the owner to be a good communicator and very wiling to help.
We would suggest buying a 24 hour ticket from the metro station which covers elevators, trams, metro and buses. As well and that, we found we walked a lot as everything was so close. We would certainly stay here again and recommend it to friends who have similar tastes to ours.
