Finding veggie food in the middle of Lisbon can be a challenge. Stumbled upon this pace and loved it.

Tao is a nice place with good food and nice service. It's very cheap and suits perfectly for a budget traveller, like me. The food is mostly vegan, although they also have vegetarian food, ie the sweets. Can recommend!

This is a cheap place to eat. A massive plate will set you back no more than 5-7EUR. A massive plate of barely-flavoured, boiled-to-mush vegetables and pulses. No seasoning, no passion and no love is in this food. This is the kind of vegan food that gives a plant-based diet a bad name. There is excellent vegan food to be found in Lisbon, save your money and go elsewhere.

On a side-note, we found the proprietor to be prickly and hostile, while the chefs seemed lovely.

Good value for the money, fresh and different options - however, some of the food could be topped up a little bit.

It's so central and very discrete; it may actually appear a shop, but it is a restaurant; it's very informal and quite busy, the menu pricing is quite confusing with a lot of combinations; its buffet, but being served and in large portions.

But then again, just get your tray, choose your stuff and you next to nothing for large and tasty home cooked vegetarian with quite a good variety.

The secret is to get your food on the tray to pay as soon as possible and pass the public staircase to the first floor where you finda serene ambience of cushioned floor seatings, good acoustics and lighting: somewhere in Asia for a few hours!

We paid 12€ for salad, 3 main course combinations, dessert and unlimited green tea.
