I stayed 3 nights at this hotel in a twin room with a friend for a 40th birthday trip. I would definitely recommend it, check-in was easy, all the staff are very friendly (and speak English, I'm ashamed to say I don't even speak basic Portuguese, normally I like to make an effort with a bit of the local language), the room was clean, bed very comfortable, breakfast choice good (and high quality food), no bath in the bathroom but the shower was double-sized and had a screen (not an annoying mouldy shower curtain!). We had room 801, which was on a corner of the building and was slightly bigger than the other rooms (all the corner rooms are bigger, so if you did fancy a little extra space you could email the hotel a couple of days ahead of your arrival and request one). We had no problem getting the hotel to store our luggage on our arrival and departure days, and access to the red Metro line for the airport is very quick and easy via the Saldanha station. The hotel isn't located right in the heart of the city, but it's by no means on the outskirts and as two females catching the Metro and walking to the hotel at 10pm we never felt unsafe at all. It's about 30 minutes at strolling pace to walk right to the Baixa-Chiado 'central' part of the city, but we tended to walk the few minutes to the Metro and use that to get about. I would definitely stay here again. METRO TIP: To exit Saldanha Metro Station at the closest exit to the hotel when arriving on the Red line from the airport do as follows - ignore the exit (Saída is 'exit') signs and instead follow the signs for the Yellow line. At the top of the steps you'll have to turn right and will now see a short tunnel in front of you. Take the escalator up to your left (don't go through the tunnel), you'll now be walking along parallel to the Yellow line platform. Don't go onto the platform, but continue right to the end and go up again. At the top of the escalator are the exit barriers, go through and then turn left. Walk along the corridor, round the corner and up the steps onto the street. Walk forward and take the second street on the left (between the E hotel with the giant hand on the corner of the building and the steak restaurant). The hotel is down here on the right. The Saldanha Metro station covers a massive area underground and the various exits bring you up in random places - one is on a back street, and from there you can't see the roundabout 'landmark' that you may be looking for on a map. Hope that helps someone, it took us about two days to figure out how to get out at that exit!
