Art Deco period hotel well appointed with many period furnishings but updated to modern extremely comfortable standards. Beautiful bedrooms and breakfast/lounge rooms. Helpful and attentive staff. A hidden gem very close to the posh shops area but only 10 minutes' pleasant walk to the centre.

A great hotel in a great location. Quiet street - yet walkable to the bustling commercial district. One street off of Ave Liberdad. Metro stop is half a block away. Concierge was very helpful. Afternoon tea was charming. Port served every evening. Rooms were generous in size and quite comfortable. Air Conditioning worked!

An excellent hotel in a great location for walking into the main areas of the city and bus and metro routes. Friendly and helpful staff, complimentary afternoon teas, including pastries, port and ginjinha (cherry liqueur). Wonderful art deco features and old photos but with modern amenities including air conditioning - much needed as it was 38 degrees when we were there :-)

This little gem of an hotel ,well situated just off Lisbon's main shopping street is the perfect base for a city visit. Its elegant art-deco features and soft 40's music create an atmosphere of an era of less hustle and bustle. The staff are attentive and all respond with a smile to any request . Victor deserves special mention as he is in charge but all the staff pull together in a way hardly seen these days. The rooms are large and beautifully appointed . The beds are super king size and fitted with a choice of pillows and crisp pure cotton linen. The superior rooms on floors 2-5 have a decanter of port in them for a night cap should you require one. From 5 o'clock every day there is complimentary port and pastries served giving the residents a chance to mingle before going out to eat . This is only a 4 star hotel because it doesn't have a restaurant but that should not put you off. There are plenty of good places to eat within a short distance and room service is available 24 hours a day . A hotel that would be hard to beat anywhere. Spoil yourself.

Art Deco charm and furnishings contribute to a great feel as you walk into the Britannia. Staff are friendly and collectively amongst the most helpful iv come across. Rooms are comfortable and the small reception/bar area conducive to meeting fellow guests.

Whilst the Britannia is not a cheap option, we thoroughly enjoyed both its charm and location.
