We had a wonderful one night stay at Hotel Britania, Victor and his staff were very accommodating and even upgraded us to a suite after some early confusion with our check in date.
Word of warning about arriving at Lisbon Portela Airport- the taxi line was 45 min long at 9am on a Monday. If you can arrange international cellular service prior to arrival do yourself a favor and either schedule an airport transfer or call an Uber. We paid €30 for a taxi to our hotel after waiting for 45 min. The Uber ride back to the airport from Hotel Britania cost €9.80.
Now about the Britania we were very pleased overall, it's not an especially luxurious property but the staff was wonderful and the location made for an easy walk to central Lisbon and the most interesting neighborhoods. The immediate area surrounding the hotel is uninspiring, there's a few decent restaurants but the beating heart of Lisbon is only a 10 min walk down the Avenida da Libertade.
