This is the Second time we stay in this Hotel and we will DEFINITELY stay there again when we return to Portugal. I rate it Excellent in all aspects! From the moment you arrive you are greeted by their Doorman whom immediately offers his assistance before you even step into the hotel. When I walked in the first time its elegance impressed me but our entire stay was magnificent. The front desk automatically upgraded us since we booked with Amex Platinum. This benefit is not guaranteed and we always have to ask for it but they had our upgrade ready. We had a beautiful big room with a balcony overlooking the pool. The rooms are huge, very clean with a vintage decor 😍. Olissippo Lapa will be are pick again on our third trip back to beautiful Portugal ❤️.

The Lapa Palace Hotel is an absolute gem. I had the privilege of enjoying two weekend stays at the hotel in July 2024, and it was an altogether lovely experience. The rooms (river view) are spacious with very tasteful interior designs. The garden with the swimmingpool is magnificent, and enjoying a light meal on the hotel terrace... a weekend afternoon doesn't gett any better than that. Professional and very competent staff ensured impeccable service. Hope to find an opportunity to return to Lisbon and the Lapa Palace soon!

At the end of a short break we stayed for 2 days at the Lapa Palace. We chose it over newer hotels like the Bairro Alto because of former (way before Covid) stays, their gardens, pool and quiet setting.
Hectic and overtouristed Lisbon center is a 15 minute taxi ride away.
The hotel is a former grand dame without the facelift. The smell in the room, the inefficient AC, the unattended chips and blunders, the general state of decay once you look at the details all point towards a hotel past it's prime.
The bed was from the 60ies, woolen bed covers, hard and rough linens ( outside temperature was 33°) rounded up that this was a trip down memory lane.
Not a lot of occupancy, a lot of bored personnel trying to ride the fine line between high service expectations and "we are working in a palace snootiness".
Mostly the service was ok though.
Our room had a big terrace with sunbeds, a table and 4 chairs and a sofa bench.
All these were supposed to have covers and pillows. After searching the room for these I found some stuffed away in a corridor and dragged them over. The rest was absent until we left.
Old, smelly bathroom, no separate toilet, and slippery enough for a disaster waiting to happen.
One dinner at their restaurant, 2 tables only occupied, good service, far from stellar food.
Breakfast as to be expected, again in a setting like the 80ies. Other areas of the hotel looked more like the 60ies.
A lot of families with small children which sort of marred the pool experience but we tend to say that it is not the fault of the children but the educational failure of their parents which is to blame.
In general: slendor of the past that needs serious updating and renovation. This is not a modern luxury establishment

Room tip: The hotel is outside of the center, you need a taxi

We had an unbelievable stay. It is like a hidden gem tucked away in the bustling city of Lisbon. Easy and quick to get to any of the city shopping or sites. Beautiful neighborhood. The staff went above and beyond. The grounds were beautiful: having drinks on the terrace, the pool and loungers, just so peaceful. The spa was amazing! We can’t wait to return!

A memorable stay at the luxurious and at the same time welcoming palace perfectly located at Lisbon’s diplomatic quarter and high-end residential area. Staff are professional and friendly, making guests feel welcome on arrival.
High praises to the Concierge that was able to arrange a coveted “Cozido à Portuguesa” at one of the best Lisbon restaurants, Adega do Nunes. This is a very special dish available seasonally and only once a week. The feast was specially prepared for my table with envious looks from patrons of the restaurant.
The ambiance at the hotel is stately and serene with beautiful grounds including a delightful pool with lush, manicured gardens around. A perfect urban resort and spa to relax. Accommodation is well appointed and with nice amenities. A special touch was an awesome petite bottle of 2018 Graham’s late bottled vintage port.
Room service is perfection on both service and quality of food.
A Palace Hotel to call yours. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel. Our room I felt was a bit dated by today’s Amex fh&r standards especially the bathroom. We arrived at midnight and didn’t have the energy to change rooms . The breakfasts are really lovely and the spa , pool and fitness center were very nice. Lunch at the pool was delightful and cocktails at the bar were excellent. We had dinner at the restaurant on our last night and it was fantastic. We had the best vegan mozzarella we have ever had the wine the fish and wow the pig was incredible. The staff cannot do enough for you. Phillip the concierge connected us with an amazing private tour to sintra which we loved. We would return.

Room tip: Don’t miss the pool and dinner
