Perfection!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 2 May 2017via mobile
We spent two days in Lisboa at the beautiful Lapa Palace Hotel. Our room was on the 6th floor and had a view over the gardens and pool to the river. Everything was comfortable and clean. The bath was beautiful and had a walk in shower which we loved. We enjoyed having wine and snacks on the patio and enjoyed a light dinner in the bar. Service was impeccable. The waiters were helpful and pleasant. Food was delicious. The music in the bar was beautiful. Kudos to the pianist! The wonderful and most helpful concierges, Miguel and Hugo, arranged for a driver to
pick us up the airport. Also booked a Fado evening, which was fun. Since we were in the city for a limited time they arranged for a driver to take us around Lisboa and then to Sintra and Cabo da Roça. Our driver, Miguel, was knowledgeable and friendly and made the day memorable. Can't forget to mention the beautiful breakfast buffet in the lovely dining room. They served anything one could want from mimosas to fresh fruit juices, coffee and tea, eggs, sausages, potatoes, assorted fruit, yogurt, breads of all kinds, cheeses and cold meats. There was more but this gives you an idea of the scope of the buffet. We loved our time at the Lapa and hope to return next April for a longer stay. We enjoyed beautiful Lisboa and its wonderful people!

Stayed here for two nights after our cruise.
It is a perfect, very charming European hotel - not too big - not too small- with beautifully furnished rooms overlooking the river and superb service.
Almost worth flying to Lisbon just to relax at the hotel for a few nights.
Concierge took care of everything we requested.
Drinks on the patio, a beautiful garden pool and a superb dining room.
What else can you ask for?

We stayed here for a week as a family with two small children and absolutely loved it. It was a bit too cool for the pool but with warmer weather it's fantastic to feel like in a resort. It's a quiet neighborhood so not ideal if you want to be in the middle of town. But we very much enjoyed coming back to this peaceful place after a day of sightseeing and activity. The level of service is outstanding. Highly recommended.

Four night long weekend, garden wing, river view. From an early check-in to a late check-out, nothing was too much trouble for the staff of this hotel. 5th floor bedroom, spectacular balcony view of the Tagus, luxurious bathroom and a bed so large we slept in separate post codes! Public areas reflect the hotel’s past as a Palace; gardens are beautiful and large pool area is great to unwind. Food is, as claimed, “Gastronomic” and the restaurant more than excelled both in quality and service. But, what makes this hotel special is that all staff genuinely put the customer first. Concierge, reception, F&B and facilities management are all exceptional in their individual roles but also form an outstanding team. One event, an act of “enlightened professionalism”, stands out and illustrates how the team add to the guest experience. It involved an observation by a maid, a swift reaction by her team leader, co-ordinated action by kitchen and reception and resulted in an unsought stunning chocolate torte with chilled espumante making a “happy-tearful” guest touched by genuine thoughtful hospitality. Past reviewers cite location, but this is a bonus as the morning noise is the dawn chorus, the river views and gardens are fabulous and taxis are inexpensive. The hotel is relatively expensive compared to more central competitors: but the memories are worth the difference. Thank you Olissippo Lapa Palace Hotel and personnel for the experience and a memorable weekend.

It is an old fashioned hotel, so if you are looking for modern comforts, not the place for you. Beautiful gardens, delicious food, nice outdoor spots for breakfast and lunch and outside the old fashioned bar. A trip back in time, very relaxing and friendly staff.Service is exceptional and though rooms maybe lacking in modern comforts, luxury is abundant.

Room tip: my view was of the gardens and the city, there are sea view rooms.

My partner and I stayed here for three nights. We were thrilled to have a river / pool view and on a high floor (tip: ask for both at check-in).

Beds are really comfortable and the bathroom is luxurious with marble everywhere and azulejos as well.

The doormen wear traditional top hats and tails and treat you very professionally.

Breakfast is included and is very competent.

The location in the Lapa section of Lisbon is far from the main action, but we liked that and getting a taxi to and from the hotel is easy.
