Thanks to a friend who put me up in an apartment he owns I had a few pennies left to end the holiday on a high note. Although certainly not a cheap hotel - my room was 200 euro a night - it is a great way to round off a trip to Portugal if you economise in the first week. This hotel is so good that it is worth saving up for: The staff are wonderful, the interior of the hotel is beautiful and the garden and pool area are exquisite and great, great value even for the price paid. The hotel is like a magic portal: You can go in exhausted from a hard year and come out, just a few days later relaxed and re-invigorated. Definitely would recommend this to anyone and if the prices in summer are too steep consider going to Portugal in late March / early April when the weather is still pleasant and there is so much to see in the capital that you don't have to spend all day by the pool.

Good spacious room, huge bed, great staff, good food, couldn't have asked for more.
Probably not suited to young guests, perfect if you like peace and quiet.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked garden. Lovely view.

We spent three nights at this hotel by the beginning of Juli 2012 and in general we are satisfied.
Positive points are very nice and large garden with pool and with bar(very delicious calvados) , pleasant staff, hotel location, nice hotel interior/furniture except for restaurant, high-quality bed, good breakfast koffee and mango fruit, quiet hotel.
Nothing to be praised - unclean carpet in the corner in our room, hotel restaurant is unexciting and the food is nothing special , breakfast presentation is poor.
We have not seen SPA.
Positive dominate.

Room Tip: The room No. 607 has a nice view of the river but a little noisy in the morning. No balcony.

Stayed for 3 nights in one of the Palace Deluxe rooms, which was a beautiful and very spacious room with a huge terrace area. Extremely comfortable room, with a more than respectable pillow menu.
The outstanding feature of the hotel was the staff, for whom nothing was too much trouble and any requests were handled instantly. They made our stay quite amazing. The concierge service is particularly good, to the level of not only giving a reliable overview of the best restaurants, but actually recommending specific dishes (and really getting it right).
A wonderfully tasty and beautifully presented breakfast in bed was included in part of the room cost. The only negative about this hotel was the restaurant, it is not up to the standard of so many of the restaurants in town, so a short taxi ride into down is a good idea for an evening out.
In general, this hotel is pure class.

We chose the Lapa Palace for a two day business event and it turned to to be a very good choice. The main conference room is comfortable and well situated in a quiet area of the hotel. The lunch buffets were excellent, although the food at the more formal seated dinner was surprisingly disappointing. The guest rooms are generally excellent and most have attractive views of the hotel's garden and very good pool. The location of the hotel - in a quiet but central residential area on top of one of Lisbon's hills - is ideal. The hotel has real style to it and is a delightful place to stay. Next time I want to come back for leisure rather than business.
