When it rains, ideal to visit this nice museum, with many national treasures, many religious paintings, and a lot of well known painters, as Gustave Gourbet, Bosch, Bruegel; the museum is known by local peoples of Lisbon as the Green Windows museum, due to the 40 windows seen on the outside; to admire art and antic fournitures and a lot of sculptures and great art include the famous Sao Vincente Panels.
Merit a visit.

This place is somewhat pricey compared to a lot of Lisbon’s main attractions. It has some major artists but seems rather bias towards religious imagery - understandable given the extent of Catholicism in Portugal. I am religious myself so not a problem but I was expecting a broader subject matter perhaps.

one of the best museums in Portugal, and worldwide as well. You can’t miss it. Take 2hours at least to explore it.

What it lacks in big names (Bosch's Temptation of St Anthony will blow your mind), it makes up for in beautiful things. Remarkably cheap to get in, this beautiful, modern interior houses some of the most gorgeous religious art. And all exquisitely presented.

Besides Bosch's breath-taking "Temptation of Saint Anthony," this museum has plenty of other worthwhile European paintings. While the first floor may appear to hold the most important paintings in the collection, the much smaller third floor contains a brilliant range of late-medieval and early-Renaissance paintings (mostly on Christian subjects). If I were visiting the museum again, I would hurry to the Bosch painting on Floor 1, spend fifteen minutes looking at it, and then spend the rest of my time on the third floor.
