“There's a welcome on the mat.”
Reviewed 28 April 2012

Stayed for four nights over Easter. Lovely place to stay, from the great welcome we rec'd
from Magda to peaceful nights sleep in comfy beds.

The beautiful house is clean, stylish, quiet and full of character. The location is ideal
right in city centre, we walked everywhere. Nights were spent in the Bairo Alto area for
Dinner/Drinks with a very safe walk back to the Casa. Approx 5 min walk.

The room we stayed in on the ground floor was well appointed and contained two double beds.

Magda and her team enhanced our first trip to Lisbon with their great suggestions and provided
three detailed maps of the city and details of how to go about getting from A to B.Invaluable.

Each morning there was genuine concern as to how we enjoyed the previous day. Super
friendly staff that bake delicious cakes to be served at breakfast. The fresh orange juice
was lovely just right to start the day. Breakfast served till 11am.

An honesty fridge is provided in the kitchen, write up what was taken and pay at checkout.
There is also space available for personal use of the fridge.

Highly Recommended, we will stay here on future trips.

We had 3 couples and one unexpected late addition. Providing extra bed was no problem. Magda and staff were wonderfully obliging, even to the extent of catering for a food allergy. Apartment was spacious and clean. They gave very helpful advice on sights and restaurants.
Taxis are cheap and plentiful. Bus and trams are nearby.

I agree with whom says that the speciality of this house is given by the wonderful staff. These guys are so helpful, you don't even have to ask, they give you all the information you need to get around beautiful Lisbon...and if you ask, well they'll help with a kindness and a genuine pleasure for their job such as I've never seen before. We've been there with our 20 months old girl and she loved it too, If you've kids, you'll just have to watch them out because of steps and courtyards stairs and balconies with no railings. The house has newly renovated rooms, a nice job made with the good modern taste that you'll find throughout all Portugal.

This really is a little gem. The welcome was genuinely friendly and informative with a real desire to help you make the most of your stay in Lisbon. The room was very clean and comfortable (just like the photograph!) and the breakfasts excellent (with copious amounts of home-made cake). Very good English is spoken (shame on us all for our lack of Portugese). The staff's recommendations for places to visit and good affordable restaurants were all spot on.

Although it was a little hard to find (due to multiple streets having roughly the same name) we were welcomed very warmly by one of the owners. He fluently spoke English and French and proceeded to explain us just about everything we needed to know about the city of Lisbon. The hotel itself is located 10 minutes walking from the city quarter of Bairro Alto, where there are lots of bars and restaurants. The room was cosy with modern and well-chosen furniture. The bathroom was very clean and spacious with an excellent shower. We didn't have a room with a view, but we didn't mind because we only were there for sleeping. Breakfast offered a lot of choice, with some home made toppings and pancakes, pudding, cake, etc... Every day we were welcomed with freshly made orange juice and strong coffee. Although we didn't need it, we had the possibility of using the local computer for free internet access. The owners also offered to make reservations in local restaurants for us and gave us lots of advice about which bars and restaurants were good. They also gave us some planning advice: which parts of the city to visit when, etc... Even though it was located in the busy city, there was no noise at night, so we slept great. Overall a very good stay in an excellent hotel!

Room Tip: We were staying in the Alfama room. They also have an apartment with room for six people.
