Sorry for the pun, but when you see the name and location of this fine restaurant (right beside a beautiful park), you can't help but think of the wonderful detective thriller Gorky Park by Martin Cruz Smith. However, while the novel set in Moscow was rather dark and depressing, Gorki Tapas nas Flores is very uplifting. When I walked in, I immediately loved the simple, yet elegant, decor. I was further impressed by the very personable young lady who served my wife and I. She was most knowledgeable of the various menu items and seemed ready to tailor her suggestions to our response to her question, "What do you feel like eating tonight." We ordered a very modest couple of tapas because we had already had appetizers in our nearby rental apartment. We immediately regretted not having shown up with our full appetites. The tapas were fantastic, both visually attractive and absolutely delicious. My two Heineken draft beers were served in beautifully chilled glasses and my wife's wine was a lovely accompaniment to her meal. The server worked most effectively with her assistant to provide service that was attentive and efficient. We had a wonderful time and will most certainly return, next time determined to sample a wider range from their attractive menu.
