Don't hesitate to book this apartment. The area is safe, convenient and the apartment couldn't be more well-appointed.
After a month of living in hostels this was luxury. One bedroom has a double bed. The other has bunk beds and a cot for baby. It was wonderful to have a sitting area and kitchen. The owner left us a bottle of wine, fruit and sweet rolls on our arrival. There is a washing machine and a clothes line outside the kitchen window. The room is on the first floor. It can get noisy at night as it seems that the custom for the locals is to hang around in the street talking until late. We managed to have good sleeps though. It is close to eateries, sites in the old area, metros and Rossio train station. So easy to walk around. This area has old, narrow streets. Taxi drivers were reluctant to take us there though. When you arrive there is just an old green door - no signs. Don't be put off. It is safe and welcoming inside. Antonio our host lives upstairs and speaks fairly good English. He tried hard, was welcoming and helpful and his wife was lovely. Id recommend this place
After travelling for a few weeks and staying in hostels it was lovely to have such a well appointed apartment to relax in.
The 2 bedrooms sleeps 4 plus 1 baby in a cot.
The lounge suited us 2 ladies but may be a little small for a family.
Lovely fully equipped kitchen with the added bonus of a washing machine!
Good sized bathroom.
Very safe and secure
Whilst there were a few minor issues, nothing that was of any real concern.
The whole apartment was very clean, the location close to most attractions or in easy reach of transport.
Would definitely stay again.
The welcome bottle of wine along with rolls and fruit was a lovely touch. Thank you Antonio.
We have stayed recently as a family of 5 with 3 children at this apartment for 8 days during April school holidays. This apartment offered exactly what we wanted, all the facilities that home would have offered in the kitchen, bedding and safety. The area was close to the city centre, Nearest Metro station; Martim Moniz. From here, you can walk to all the major tourist attractions or take a bus or a metro there.
The area is situated in Mouraria district of Lisbon, the birthplace of Fado, it is a mixed ethnic area but very safe indeed with some good value Asian Bangladeshi restaurants and shops.
The owner Antonio has been very helpful and welcoming and even stayed a couple hours extra before we left.
The city of Lisbon is a very exciting place to visit, full of history and activities for children and adults alike try Oceanarium or a visit to Belem or Istoril. We will certainly visit again in the future and probably use this place again.
