Will definitely return here! Cabrito was amazing, as well as lulas. Kids could stretch their legs outside within view, while we could have a nice adult meal. Portuguese families were still waiting for tables at 1500 for lunch on a Sat. Full restaurant.

We visited Quinta do Farta Pao with our children when passing through the area. We had been there before, and this time it was even better then we remembered. The food is excellent, the staff helpful and friendly. The restaurant itself is traditional with a lovely green garden where the children can play. You can also have your meal outside in the shade.
We can recommend the acorda de gamba's, and if you like spicier food: don't forget to ask for the piri piri oil.
Their Leite Creme is a wonderful dessert. Would definitely recommend!

We rang to check if there was access for a wheelchair user as it is an old farmhouse with a bread oven (hence the name) the main entrance is not suitable - they opened a side gate and there was a sloped path to sit under the pergola out of the hot afternoon sun.
The couverts were delicious: octupus salad- which I love/fresh bread/Portuguese porco preto ham by the taste of it.
Duck with Orange/Pato com Laranja was very tasty and not too dry served with home-made chips?
The escalopes with mushroom sauce that I tried from another's plate was creamy nd the meat tender. The salada mista was generous.
Drink wise we had a jug of white sangria which was distinctive with an apple flavour and very moreish.
The desserts were yummy - I had passionfruit tart which I've not had before ... worth a return visit for that methinks.
It is a bit pricey and it requires a car to visit. I have noted recent reviews particularly the negative. It was quite quiet and they did seem to be a bit staff lite for its size than you'd expect in comparison to other restaurants and might have struggled if became quickly busy but the food came at a reasonable time. I have been here once and a while over the years and it does a good traditional cozido and it is pleasant to sit outside surrounded by trees.

We live nearby in Cascais and went there today for lunch with my family. The location is nice and good for kids.

Having said that, I cannot recommend this restaurant. It seems the owners are trying to lower costs by not having the adequate amount of staff working in the kitchen and as service staff. We had to wait for almost 90min for food. Appear entry the kitchen is overworked as the dishes arrived one every 10 min. Already when they arrived the food was cold.

Waiters also completely overworked. We noticed that there were buses dropping of tourist groups. I guess this is becoming more of a mass market place. For Portugal this is not a cheap place and based on our experience I will not return. There are several other restaurants in the area that offer a better experience.

Farta Pao is a secluded but very nice restaurant near Malviera de Serra. The fish selection is excellent and we highly recommend the Robalo (Portuguse sea bass). The service is friendly and efficient. The menu offers a lote of service and we think it is a real bargain - good value. Try it - you'll like it.
