“Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 November 2007

This was my second trip to the Hotel Baia in two years, and my wife's 6th trip in 14 years. The reception area, breakfast area and restaurant has been completely redone, with new meeting rooms added and terrace refurbished and underground parking. There is free Internet which was great for staying in touch with my US offices We had a fantastic time here. The staff is friendly, especially Sydnie the barman in the evening and Jose in the restaurant.

This last trip we stayed a week. Each day after breakfast we would go for walks on the ocean. There is a wonderful walk with great scenery along the coast where the waves break onto the side. It is easy to get around.

We met many people here at the hotel who come every year and have been doing it annually for a long time. I highly recommend staying here, even if you have business in Lisbon. The commute is easy on the train.

We stayed here from a friday to monday (weekend of 14th - 17th September 07) - we were attending the Motogp in Estoril.
I think the hotel has a fantastic setting, beautiful beach across the cobble-locked road, roof top poolwith cafe and loungers. Bar and restaraunt on ground floor.
The room was basic, but did the job. We had a room on the front of the hotel with balcony, 2nd floor, and the view was fantastic.
Bathroom was small but had everything, and a good powerful shower. Our room was cleaned everyday with fresh towels etc.
Breakfast was fine, hot buffet and continental, as much as you could eat!
The hotel itself has the best location in all of Cascais I reckon - restaraunts & bars just around the corner, but not noisy, little winding streets and stalls, big shopping centre within 2 minutes walk - but none of this took away from the beauty of the sea front in Cascais - my only problem was we didn't stay longer! It's the perfect location of attending racing in Estoril!

We have just returned from about 5 days at The Baia hotel in Cascais. My husband has to travel quite a lot in business and I join him every time I can. He normally takes a few days holiday after his business is done. In this occasion he could not believe how rude the reception staff of the hotel was with him and with me in two different occasions when we politely asked them to move us from a room overlooking a wall and the noisy air conditioning system of the hotel to a more nicer room. At one point these people were raising their voice at us whilst at all moment we remained calm and polite . As the room was booked by my husband's company and already paid for, they did not want to give any account to us, absolutely ignoring our request. I have to say that even though eventually we got moved thanks to a call my husband made to his company we did not like the tone nor the attitude of the hotel reception staff. I found them not only rude but incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful and I can honestly say it has been the worst service we have ever experienced in any country in the world. I hope if they ever read this review, it helps them to realise that this is not the way forward and as a result improve their service.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife for one week. We had a very good room with a balcony overlooking the beach and harbour. The staff were very helpful and gave advise when asked. We had a poor breakfast each morning and eat out in the local reasturants in the evening. The pool and terrace area with the "cafe" was a lovely way to pass to pass the afternoon.Cascais is a good sized town ,clean and interesting.

Four Nights Golfing With the Boys.
Read the hotel reviews before going and expected miserable staff and less than impressive facilities. Rubbish... It was absolutely fine.
Good value clean modern with cracking harbour view balcony (a must) Welcoming reception with perfect English spoken,
No frills I grant you, but clean rooms and baths. Location in town the best. Dozens of bars and fresh fish restaurants adjacent. Underground parking for 10 bucks a night. Golf courses half hour away. One bug bear, indoor swimming pool closed before 10 am and after 6 pm. ie. when everyone wants it. Other than that I would go back there as a base to use but not as a holiday accom. Enjoy...Bandit David
