Beautiful location, lovely seawater pool with luxurious loungers and towels. The tapas is highly recommended as are the cocktails. The decor and lighting in public areas is well designed and gives a peaceful, cool appearance. As the resort is not completed it is difficult to see how it will pan out. Currently it is a tranquil experience with few people around.

My husband and I booked a room at Cascade for our one year wedding anniversary after reading extensive reviews on TA. Upon arrival we were picked up by the free shuttle from the bus station, as we were arriving from Lisbon which we found very convenient. We were given a free welcome drink and then shown our room which had been upgraded to a suite. The room was gorgeous and our patio was perfect being that we could lay on our own lounge chairs, access the pool, and still have some privacy. The bathroom had a nice soak in tub and a separate rain shower which is just great after a day spent in the sun. The bed was very comfortable and the turn down service every night included delicious chocolates/cookies by your bed. Our first night we had dinner at Senses and arrived back to our room to find our bath had been filled with bubbles and rose petals, and there were many chocolates, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and a bottle of champagne. I'm assuming this was due to them knowing we were there on our anniversary and it was a great surprise.

We had dinner in the Senses restaurant on two occasions, once for day time tapas, and once for lunch. The dinner appetizers and mains are fabulous, although beware they are not huge portions. The desserts, however are very large and can be easily split. At times the service in the restaurant can be slow but both dinners were very pleasant. The tapas are very good as well and an excellant value. We split 9 tapas for lunch and it was 15 euros. Lunch service seemed to be the slowest with not many people working. The breakfast that is included is FABULOUS and has so many delicious items to choose from.

A few things that kept me from giving it 5 stars (some of which are in the works): The plaza where the shopping center is supposed to open is not open yet. It would be nice to have a market/convenience store to buy drinks, snacks, etc. We walked closer into town and brought things back to the room but having some stores and especially a deli/coffeeshop with some lunch alternatives on site would be ideal. We were also told conflicting info about the beach access. On arrival we were told there was a staircase down to the beach over the cliffs, but after not finding it and asking another staff member we were told it was too dangerous and was "a nude beach anyway." The beach is just around the corner but a good 10-15 minute walk with the hill. Make sure you go over the fence and walk along the cliffs to the light house pier as that is where we saw our most stunning views. We never would have known to do that as the staff do not promote the beauty that is just over the (unsightly) fence they have up.

We had a fabulous, relaxing, romantic holiday at Cascade and would love to return in the future when the entire resort is complete.

Room Tip: Book a sea view room, especially currently as the other side looks out over much of the unfinished landscaping.

Cascade Resort, Porto De Mos, Lagos 50 min journey from Faro airport. is a very new hotel having opened only last year. All rooms of high standard and executive class . Rooms are themed into 4 categories, South American, Asian, and African and European. The design, quality of finish is to a very high standard. A feature in all rooms is that the bathroom has a clear window into bedroom area with blind so that you can even look out over the sea from the bath – although all have a separate shower for those that do not have time to relax. Each has private balcony which is not overlooked. Has elegant bar lounge area and terrace area overlooking sea. Senses restaurant while not cheap has top notch food and wonderful presentation. Hotel has great spa treatment rooms, jaccuzi and heated outdoor pool as well as the main unheated pool in hotel complex. The landscaping has yet to be completed but you can enjoy a cliff walk to the lighthouse on the peninsula. Amazing views, but we were careful not to look too closely over the edge. The hotel also has self catering apartments directly opposite which were more geared to families with well equipped kitchens and high quality furnishings. Vivenda Miranda a ten minute walk from the hotel is the smaller established boutique resort of the same owner and a marevellous place to take dinner or relax in the beatiful gardens. Long term plans include a golf course for the Cascade resort and the laying out of the formal gardens. At present it feels a bit unfinished. A car is definitely needed. Resort although only 15 minute walk into town is uphill. There are no other restaurants or amenities close at hand. Would definitely recommend the hotel for a romantic, or relaxing get away, but not for families with small children... the cliff walk is quite dangerous and not fenced off. However, the self catering apartments opposite belonging to the hotel would be quite suitable.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the pool for the best views.

Beautiful hotel, with spacious rooms. We had a two person bedroom overlooking the swimming pool and the ocean. Nice bathroom with bathtub and separate shower with rainshower. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave us some tips about where to eat, which were all good. The bar itself serves the best cocktails and the restaurant serves wonderful meals. Breakfast is just great with many different things to choose from. Beach is a little further down the street, but is very nice. Beautiful surroundings, nice restaurant on top and if you like you can rent a chair so you don't have to sit in the sand. Lagos is a 20 minute walk. The beautiful road to take is via the cliffs, which is also great for running and-or biking. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone visiting the Algarve.

Room Tip: Room 207 is a good room. Close to the reception, but quiet with a nice balcony. Nice view over the swimming pool and ocean.
