If you're looking for a hotel that is not only situated close to the local restaurants and shopping district but is in walking distance of the marina, this should be the hotel of choice. Located on a small street that appears, at first glance, to be incapable of hosting a hotel the size of Stay Hotel, the front facade shows that this has been designed to be a modern and inviting hotel with a simple ethos: functionality over design.

The bedroom we stayed in was a moderate size with a comfortable bed and a small Juliette-style balcony overlooking the street. The air-conditioning can be quite loud which is problematic for those people who like silence to sleep and, on a summer's day, the trade-off between noise and cool air is a difficult one. I would have appreciated being able to reduce the temperature below the minimum of 16 degrees Celsius but this is a minor detail.

The breakfast on offer is a continental style breakfast with a range of cereals, pastries, coffee and juice on offer. A hotel of this size might have been able to extend its range further by offering a full breakfast but this might be more to do with the facilities on site.

If there is one criticism of the hotel, it is that the lift is extremely small for the number of guests staying at the hotel and does often take some time to arrive at your floor. For people with difficulty walking or with disabilities, this could pose a problem as there are no rooms on the ground floor and access to the next floor is only by a narrow staircase covered by a fire door or by the lift.

Very good hotel situated perfectly. It is close to the shopping centre and the old town. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and nothing seemed too much trouble, their advice on restaurants was excellent. The room is spacious with a huge balcony which had the morning sun. The bed is very comfortable.

Room Tip: %th floor rooms 501, and 508

The location was the Hotel's main attraction, just around the corner from the Main Street of the old town.

Easy parking on street for free after 7pm weekdays, 1pm Saturdays and all day Sunday, or underground parking for Euro 15.

Friendly reception staff, room was clean and relatively modern but could have done with redecoration.

Comfortable bed, and good shower; main drawback was disturbed sleep from noisy (English) guests arriving back from town drunk at midnight, 2am, 4.30am - not rowdy, just happy and loud.

Also noise from toilets flushing above through the night.

Right on a busy street, but road noise minimal thanks to good double glazing.

I had never heard of this Hotel brand before as I always tend to use main branded hotels such as the IHG brands so didn't really know what to expect. Upon arriving at the hotel I was welcomed by a very cheery receptionist who had everything ready and it was a very speedy check in. The reception area was very modern and clean as was the Guest room. The room itself was of a decent size as was the Bathroom so all in all I was very happy with the standard of the hotel. The location of the hotel was perfect as its just a short walk to the centre and the Marina. If I return to Faro I think this hotel would be my first choice as it is clean, tidy and good value for money and yes I would recommend it to Family and Friends.

I decided for this hotel, as it is situated in the center of the city (2 min. Walking to the shopping street or to the central situated restaurants and cafes, 5 min. To the old town/ fortresses, about 7 min. Walking to the marina). I'd suggest to take a taxi to the airport, it takes 15 min. , it is more comfortable and much faster as by bus and it is cheap (about 12 euros). The rooms and the service are OK. A bottle of water is offered as a welcome drink, you have tees in the room for free.
