The church inside is beautiful and very peaceful. It is beautifully decorated. A short walk through to and tou come out to a small courtyard. The Chapel of Bones is out here. It is very small and quite eerie I think but most definitely worth a visit. Fascinating!

This church created from the bones of deceased monks needs to be seen. We were lucky that it was very quite when we entered.
The main church is a feast of gold gilt and no matter what your beliefs makes a visual impression.
Note the church opens in the morning, closes at lunch time to 15:00 and charges €2 .

The church is wonderful to look at and incredibly decorative inside. There is also a catacombe chapel in the rear

There are some gyspy beggers outside who will curse you, but the church seem to do nothing about this

The staff also are unhelpful

This is well worth a visit just for the building itself and read up on its history before or after as you’ll get no insight inside

This church is well worth a visit , if in Faro. The church itself is quite stunning , very ornate and impressive. To the rear of the church , through a pretty garden , is the chapel of bones , both macabre and beautiful , at the same time. There is a 2 euro charge.
