We arrived in Portugal on the Saturday, and headed straight for this place for our evening meal. We weren't planning to do what we did, but we ended up eating here every night for a week (bar 1). On our second night, we ate somewhere else that I will review separately.
We were greeted at the door and given the option of tables. The restaurant is split out into 3 sections - the first is 'al fresco', second is internal windows and open sliding doors, and the third is indoor. We decided to go for the 'middle of the road' with our seating.
Over the course of the week, between our party of 5, we tried multiple starters. I tried the Minestrone Soup, the Tomato Soup and the Tomato and Egg soup - and all three were absolutely beautiful. We also added a Focaccia 10 Years with Pepperoni (Garlic Bread Pizza with Pepperoni) - this is highly recommended, and absolutely AMAZING.
I tried to move around on the main courses, trying different tastes, and we all tried each other's dishes so managed to taste most of the non-pizza menu.
The food was mostly fabulous - with just one off night - this was forgivable, and was explained to us, and was definitely a one off.
The staff in the restaurant are tremendously attentive. Our daughter is 2 years old, and I kid you not - not only did they look after her for food, but they also went that extra mile to entertain her, and give her attention. For that, i thank Luis and Bridget (especially Bridget, who attended to us on all but 1 night.). The service was excellent, always with a smile and greeted and parted with a hug or shaken hand and best wishes.
When we eventually return to this area, we'll be straight back here, and look forward to it.
As someone who can eat Italian Food day in, day out, i can honestly say that this place the place to go, and wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.
Top marks to Bridget and Luis for making our visits truly memorable.
