Really interesting interior design giving the effect of being in a cave.Small but very smart room with a balcony. We ate in the restaurant both our nights as the food and the wine were both very good and reasonably priced. My only small criticism would be the very steep slope to the main entrance which was impossible without help in a wheelchair..Apart from that everything was perfect !

The hotel is a surprise with the external facade a uncompromising red office block whilst its interior decor is highly modernist and striking with various textured shapes. Location is excellent being just outside the city walks but only a 15 min walk to the key sites. The rooms are small but highly functional although the low ceiling mirrored corridors can be very disconcerting particular if you are tall....

The breakfast spread in the Avista bar is superb whilst evening music in the same location is fun. The restaurant menu showcasing local dishes was mouth watering but unfortunately execution was highly disappointing and indeed turned out to be one of our worst meals in Portugal.

Nevertheless Vitoria Stones value for money, functional room and excellent breakfast spread (just) justify its rating as good vs average

The Victoria Stone is probably the best value offer I have seen. A very comfortable hotel, conveniently located just outside the walls with excellent service. There is plenty of staff to meet your needs and they have many facilities. After visiting Evora in the hot sun it was a treat to relax at the rooftop pool. The breakfast was excellent, everything available what you could possibly want and all fresh! Beds are large and very good quality with effective airco. The only negative I could find were the quant wash bowls in the bathroom that were way too small. But that is easily forgiven considering the rest.

This modern hotel about a 5 minute walk from the old city was a great place to be. We could walk everywhere in the old city without having to drive there. The hotel's contemporary design was pleasing, if a little disconcerting at first. The mirrored ceilings in the dark hallways were a bit spooky, and the rooms were on the smaller side. But these are very minor quibbles.

The breakfasts were great, the restaurant, bar and rooftop pool were terrific, and the staff was outstanding. They helped in every way they could and went far beyond in providing anything we needed. When our rental car died, the assistant manager came in from his day off to give us a jump. Other folks at the desk were patient with our questions and helpful with advice about sights and meals.

A great experience.

My husband and I stayed here for one night. The hotel is sleek and the common areas are very nice - the bar, rooftop, restaurant, pool area - but the rooms are tiny. We had a double bed that took up the entire room, we could only partially open our suitcases. The same goes for the bathroom. The sink is a rectangle about one foot deep by approx 2.5 feet long. The towels were very soft and generous but there was no towel rack...just no space. The shower is also rectangular...thank goodness we're small people. The rooftop has a lovely (tiny) pool and it is a perfect place to relax. There is seating for ~20 people total. The breakfast, which is included, is wonderful...coffee, tea and juices as well as meats, eggs, many kinds of cheese and jam, fruit, yogurt and a variety of breads. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant, 5 Almonds since it was so highly rated on Trip Advisor. It was excellent and dinner for two with a bottle of wine was ~55 Euros. The setting and service were also very good.
