“Lovely beach in any weather”
Review of Coral Beach

Reviewed 2 weeks ago via mobile

We've been here a couple of times, in stunning weather two years ago and freezing weather this week and it is always lovely.

There's a nice loop walk (4miles)from Carraroe that I did with my 7 year old daughter this time which takes in a lochán, the pier and the beach. It's over of the signposted walks - follow the blue arrows out of Carraroe.

I don't think the toilets were open but I could be wrong. The beach wasn't very busy and we saw some nice wildlife - herons, cormorants, anemones, ponies.

Definitely a highlight of any visit to this part of the world.

Such a nice beach amazing coral beach. Such a shame the local youth ruin it for them, boy racers at the car park quite intimidating for a family spot.

I just love this beach , its never over crowded and the scenery, beautiful water and the tiny coral underfoot is just fab. I'd advise the kids wear flip-flops as the coral is very hard underfoot. A cool Atlantic dip will give you an appetite - the water is so clear here. We picnic here at least one a year (sadly on a number of occasions it was a boot picnic ( the kids had to sit in the boot it was so wild) but that in itself is a novelty and who goes to an Irish beach expecting the sun anyway ????
