Mendinghem Military Cemetery is located 17 Kms north-west of Ieper town centre on the N308 connecting Ieper to Poperinge and on to Oost-Cappel.

Not one of the famous cemeteries but well worth a stop if you are passing or near to it.

There are 2,400 Commonwealth burials of the First World War in this cemetery, 3 (now pardoned) 'shot-at-dawn' and 50 German war graves including Lieutenant Colonel, Bertram Best-Dunkley, VC (Victoria Cross), commanding 2nd/5th Lancashire Fusiliers Plot 3. D. 1, he died of wounds on 5 August 1917, aged 27.

The cemetery is accessed by a 200m gravel track, which is suitable for vehicles and parking is easy.
