Great apartment in a very peaceful location within the town. Very thoughtfully put together with lots of interesting touches. We only booked for 3 nights and wished we'd had longer. The outside terrace is a real plus - very much enjoyed sitting there with the delicious Belgian beer kindly left as a welcome present. Thanks Sven for a lovely stay - we do plan to return.

Traveled to Ypres for a week with family touring Belgium and Holland, fantastic weather made a wonderful weeks holiday bench marked by the excellent accomodation. A ver y warm welcome from Nelie in clean, well presented three bedroom aprtment a stones throw from the town centre. ypres is a pretty town but bigger than expected, lots to see and do including the numerous battle sites. Parking isn't an issue, supermarkets in town and a short drive away, menin gate is a short ten minute walk, a new theme park opened near the hooge crate museum 15 mins away, Brugge 45 mins away.

We received a warm welcome from the owner who showed us around this characterful, recently and tastefully renovated apartment. It is immaculately clean and the attention to detail is second to none. The facilities provided are certainly home from home. The centre of Ypres is only 10 minutes walk away but if you do have a car there is ample on street parking.
Ypres gives easy access on to all the major roads leading to Tyne Cot, Passendale etc and Bruges and the coast are only an hours drive away.
The accommodation was spot on, we cannot find fault with anything.

Gite de Lombard is a high quality and beautifully lit property that was much larger than we had expected. The living space is spacious with a sun trap of a balcony outside of the kitchen area. There is a decent Spar just around the corner of Rijselstraat to stock up for breakfast. It is a short walk to the centre of Ypres with decent tourist restaurants in the Grote Markt, and then to the Menen Gate.

It is, also, really simple to get to all the key museums and cemeteries in the Ypres Salient, and we even made a day trip down to Arras, which was well worth the drive. Sven, the owner, was extremely helpful, very welcoming and provided lots of helpful information on local restaurants. I could not think of a better place to use as a base for a visit to the region.
