Nice overnight stay in good, clean, modern hotel very close to the main square in Ypres and Menin Gate. Rooms nice and good bathroom, although the second bed was a sofa with some bedding, which I don't really consider a bed.

Breakfast finished very early (930 on a Fri) which was a surprise, though also very expensive at 20 EUR so didn't bother anyway. Be aware breakfast is added to your bill, then you have to request for it to be taken off if you don't actually have it.

Car park also very expensive at 15 EUR for overnight, which should really be free for residents as whether it's used or not doesn't cost the hotel anything.

Additionally we were in room 115 and a workman was drilling next to our heads at 8am and woke us up, which is way too early when people are on holiday and trying to relax.

Having said that I would stay there again as the room was decent value for money, especially given the location.

We stayed at this hotel for one night on the way home from France. We arrived late in the evening just to find out we had booked the hotel on a wrong date. This receptionist was very friendly and helped us get a Family room for the night. We were travelling with our two children and was hungry after a long drive. The hotel restaurant was supposed to close just 20 minutes after we arrived but kept the kitchen open for another hour - just for us. And the waiter was very sweet and did a great job. And the food was nice too.
The hotel is located in the charming city centre of Ieper/Ypres - we were quite surprised by this beautiful old town.
All in all a great experience (even though prices are a bit too high).

Novotel Ieper is our hotel of choice and we stayed here again in March 2018. A lot of refurbishment work was going on so we were not in our usual room, which was a bit of a disappointment, However, we were given some gifts for our inconvenience, a very nice unexpected gesture. Our stay, as usual, was a very pleasant one and we are looking forward to returning in November if not before. Many thanks to all the staff, who were all so kind and helpful.

Good points
Central location
Good breakfast if included in your stay
Entrance area open plan but modern
Bad points
Bathroom and Toilet outdated and rusted.
Bed far too close to the wall making it difficult to manoeuvre and dangerous if you are disabled.
Lack of plugs by bed and within the room for general use.
Mattress has no support at all and the pillows need throwing away.
Carpet also needs removing along with the bed settee.
If you are lucky to get a refurbished room well done This room spoilt what was otherwise an excellent trip with Edwards Coaches of South Wales.

Room Tip: Avoid 323 until refurbished

Ist visit to ypres and this hotel seriously lets it down. Where do I start. Scaffolding right outside reception door. Had trouble checking in because I wanted to pay cash and had no card. Underground parking is 15 euro per night. They want 20 euro per person for breakfast. No thank u. Bar service is very slow. Not open all the time. 6.50 euro a pint of passchendael. The whole hotel is daylight robbery. Eventually got our key and walked into a building site on floor 2. The room.was very dusty. The toilet needed bleaching as it was black in the bottom of the pan and smelt worse than a public toilet. I know they are renovating but don't put guests on the floor you are renovating. Room needs ripping out and starting again. Would not recommend and will definitely not stay here again.
