This review is based upon several years of staying in this hotel.
The Hotel Prado is situated in the centre of Ostend with easy access to all facilities in Ostend. The Tram stops opposite the hotel, giving the opportunity to travel up or down the coastline, to DePanne or Knokke, or any of the charming little stops on route. A 'Day Ticket' is available, allowing you to hop on and off as you please.

One of the most important points is often, parking your vehicle. Hotel Prado has a super clean and efficient underground parking facility, a few yards from the hotel. Additionally, there is a garage just around the corner with totally secure access, for those travelling on motorcycles. If you request parking facilities at the time of booking, you are issued with a ticket to access the parking lots, as you please.

Being a fairly small hotel, the service you receive is very personal and friendly... you rarely have to give your room no., when returning to your room. Your pass keys are generally waiting for you as you approach the desk! All staff are very friendly and extremely helpful, should you need advice of any kind.

The ground floor comprises Reception and Dining Area with a lift and stairway, to all floors. You have the option to book rooms at either the front or rear of the hotel. Rooms at the front of the hotel have a super view, but can be a little noisy if the windows are left open. If you are a light sleeper, I recommend the rear facing rooms.

On the second floor is a lounge area with comfortable seating and a bar. The panoramic window in the bar offers the chance to sit, relax, have a drink and watch the world go by! It is lovely.

There are several floors of rooms, each room is spotlessly clean and well presented. Tea and coffee making, TV and directories are provided. The bathrooms are immaculately clean with ample fresh linen with all the usual complimentary soaps, shampoo, shoe shine, etc., provided. The showers are very efficient with good water pressure. These are some of the best rooms I have stayed in, better in fact than hotels charging a much higher rate for their rooms.

Breakfast presentation and selection of foods is superb, as is the service. Again, it is faultless.

As stated earlier, this is not the first time I have stayed in this hotel, nor is it the only hotel I have stayed in, in Ostend. I can honestly state it is the best possible service I have received. I will be returning next year... Enjoy!

Good points - friendly staff, nice bathroom and great location - close to beach and shops etc.

Bad points - breakfast buffet lacking some choice, not very warm, but it did have fresh fruit. Smell of fumes from room in the back with window open.

First the positive:
- friendly reception
- great location
- perfectly adequate room amenities
- good room size
- good bathroom size and amenities
- comfortable beds

The negative:
- the levels of dust in the room are hazardous to allergy sufferers (see photos of the bedside light fittings and their proximity to the bed).
- the wifi is non existent in the room, keeps dropping and not recovering, leaving you to constantly check if you're connected to avoid bill shock. This is not really acceptable for 2017 if they claim to offer wifi.
- no water provided in the room... even less highly rated hotels offer a bottle of water per guest typically, especially where drinking water from the taps is not recommended

If the room was actually clean and not leaving me needing my inhaler and waking feeling I'd slept in a barn I'd have rated this more highly. I don't think I could come back.

Great location for an overnight stop.
Room was very clean and a good size.
Comfy bed and great breakfast. Very helpful staff. Parking was nearby,
Room could have benefited from air con, but at least the windows opened.

All the rooms in the Prado are similar. The bathrooms are excellent. The location is good with access to the town centre, casino and beach. Prices are on a par with similar hotels in Ostend. Secure parking is also available nearby at a discounted price. The staff are very friendly and willing to assist you.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms are slightly dearer but great if you like trams and buses.
