Reviewed 19 April 2016 for a stay in April 2016

The reviews tell the story: spotless, well-equipped, modern apartment, ideal location, quiet yet central, communicative and considerate host, charming city. Our four-woman, extended family group, has been taking city breaks for the past few years ( Venice, Rome, Paris) . This time we decided to head for a smaller city. Eurostar to Brussels and a 30-minute train ride to Ghent. Three and a half hours after leaving King's Cross we were ensconced with our Carrefour-purchased cheese, ham, baguette etc lunch. Each of the three bedrooms contains two very comfortable singles that can be configured as one large bed or two singles ( with additional sleeping accommodation in the large living room) so the apartment offers very flexible sleeping arrangements and with sinks in each bedroom pressure is off the bathroom, particularly at night. The key pad code entry ( as opposed to physical keys) is very simple and convenient. The only thing to be aware of, as other reviewers have pointed out, is that the stairs up to the apartment are quite steep, as are the internal stairs. However, the average age of our group is 68 and we certainly had no problems! This apartment, its owner, and Ghent itself, are all highly recommended. Hope to return.

“Great apartment, fantastic city break”
Reviewed 16 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

As others have said the apartment is great. It is really well located in the old town. We travelled there from Charleroi airport via bus to Ghent then tram to the apartment, all really straightforward. Apartment was lovely and clean with all everything you could need. Simon even provided washing liquid, dishwasher tablets, kitchen roll etc which when you are just going for a few days is great not to have to spend money on these things. Beds really comfy. We were two couples with one toddler and one baby. High chairs and cots provided were perfect and much appreciated. Even plastic cutlery, plates and cups etc were available for the children.
Only minor issue was very steep staircases, manageable but not ideal when carrying young children or after a few Belgium beers!
Simon was a great host, really good tips of where to eat, shop and visit were provided in advance. Little touches such as welcome pack and being able to store our luggage on day of check out were much appreciated.
Having never booked with trip advisor before was nervous of paying a large deposit before our stay but it was refunded following departure with no problems.
Ghent itself is lovely. Really nice atmosphere with amazing places to eat and drink. Would have no hesitation in recommending this city and this apartment.

“Great property in fantastic location”
Reviewed 6 January 2016 for a stay in December 2015

Ok, so the property is tucked away in a back street but its a super apartment and only 5 mins walk...maybe less, to the centre of town. If you have not been to Ghent, then you must go there, this was our second visit and the apartment is in a great location. I went with 5 friends - 3 couples and there was loads of room. The apartment is very clean and tidy, very modern, nice and warm, good TV and internet connections and has a wonderful open plan seating, kitchen and dining area. Bedding clean and the beds extra comfortable

I would say the stairs are fairly steep so you would need to keep control of any children but for our group this was ideal.

Simon couldn't have been more helpful so if you are like me and need a bit of reassurance - I say stay here. You would struggle to find better accommodation and we would go back again.

“Great location”
Reviewed 27 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Very nice modern apartment - very light on quiet street just a few minutes walk from heart of historic centre. very easy communication with owner who gave lots of practical information. Easy access to tram network helped as I was working out of centre of city.
Apartment was clean and well appointed

The apartment is very conveniently located and surprisingly large. We were 6 adults but there was ample bedding, dishes and cutlery. There are stairs to the unit (no elevator) so this would not be a good choice for someone with limited mobility. "Noise" was church bells and cooing pigeons. Everyone in our group was happy with the choice. :)
