This hotel was excellent in every area - location, value for money, service, quality, etc.

The rooms are very nice, the breakfast was great and most of all the location is stunning, it is in the heart of the city, Ghent is a very beautiful city, I would recommend this hotel and the city

Room Tip: All rooms are nice.

We stayed here for two separate nights, on our way to and from a skiing holiday in Austria, with our then 14 month old daughter. The hotel's location is fantastic - perfect for us as we only had a few hours to explore as we just stayed for a night at a time. The staff, both in the hotel and in the Korenhuis restaurant at breakfast, were great with our daughter and friendly and welcoming to us all.

The car park under the hotel is not cheap but was extremely convenient for us with our luggage and daughter to carry to and from the car.

For a very pleasant and comfortable hotel with good service in a superb location, the Marriott Ghent really can't be beaten

We love Marriott hotels and this one doesn't disappoint! The staff was most helpful and friendly. Lots of suggestions for us about places to dine and also made dinner reservations for us at the Belga Queen across the canal.

Everything we wanted to see was within close walking distance, and the view from the hotel is also the best. Right out the front entrance is the canal and the famous St. Michael's Bridge to the right. So glad we decided to stay here!

We spent two nights in the Marriott in Gent in February. The rooms are nice, the beds are really good and the location is perfect. Our room didn't have a bath though, which I always really appreciate when on holiday.
The hotel parking is expensive, you're better off using one of the close city parkings that are signed troughout the city (the closest to the hotel is parking nr 7 (st. Michiels) - we payed about 18 euros for fridaynight-sunday noon).

The breakfast looked really good and if you're into buffet breakfasts and don't mind paying hotel chain prices, I guess it's a good choice. There are quite some nice places to have breakfast in the surroundings of the hotel though.

We booked one night on an 'Escape Birthday' package in the Marriott. The hotel is in a wonderful location, but make sure you have checked the route out on a map, as TomTom sat navs want you to drive through the pedestrian zone.
The reception is very smart, and the staff were efficient and the check in was very quick and smooth. The receptionist offered to book us a table at any local restaurant, which was very good service. There is free wifi in the hotel, just ask for the password at the reception.
The car park is underneath the Hotel, and is expensive at EUR 23 per day, but you pay for the convenience and privacy. It does have a very steep slope to get down to it, but we didn't have any problems.
Our room, 507, was very smart, comfortable and spotlessly clean. It also had balloons for the package on the bed which was sweet!
On a Friday, the Poppi bar has happy hour from 5-7pm, so we made use of this to try some of the famous Belgian beers. There were a lot of people doing the same, and free finger food was provided by the hotel. Our rate included Gent tapas and a glass of cava each, which was also very pleasant.
The breakfast is served in the Korenhuis restaurant, with views of the river. The food was fresh and well prepared/cooked. Whether I would have paid EUR 24 for it per person I don't know, but our rate included it as standard.
Overall, we had a very comfortable stay and found the Hotel an excellent base to explore Gent. The central location meant that everything was within walking distance, and it was easy to pop back during the day if you forgot something. We will stay here again when we return to Gent.
