While there were Gregorian Chants playing in the elevator there were no signs of the Inquisition of God's dogs here. Instead it was a scene of quiet luxury and good taste.

In a great and quiet location mid town, it is aesthetically pleasing and staffed by professionals. As a botique hotel it is friendly and not imposing. I liked the euromodern effiency of the room. A good value and choice.

Yes...it is expensive, but the Dominican Hotel in Brussels is steps from the Grand Place...the historic city square. This hotel boasts the most comortable beds I have ever slept in and the most perfect service...from the front desk to the bar and restaurant. They even got me in touch with the purveyor of their beds and bed linens so i could replicate the experience at home! I spent a joyous week here and would never stay anywhere else in Brussels.

Had the deluxe room which was a good size for a standard, clean and comfortable beds. Modern contemprary decor. Some nice touches like a nesperesso machine in the room and good selections of tea. The staff at the desk and in the restaurant were really helpful and friendly. The breakfast selection was a little sparce but you can have some dishes made to order. Beautiful courtyard for evening drinks. Close to shopping and good restaurants.
The gym had a decent amount of aerobic machines but only one set of dumbells. No other weights (unless you count 2kg hand weights) and no weights bench.
The internet connection is free but was the slowest I have ever experienced in Europe. At times it was unable to even open Google. If a gym and being able to work online are not so important to you, its a really nice hotel and great value if you are taking advantage of one of the promotions. I would have baulked at paying full price though.

My husband and I have just returned from a lovely weekend break...the Dominican Hotel was the highlight of our trip. The hotel is in a good location within walking distance to the Grand Place and lots of restaurants and bars. The staff at check-in were very helpful, polite and always had a smile on their face. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The buffet breakfast was plentiful and of good quality. There was a lot to choose from - champagne, fruit, cereals, cheese, hot food, variety of bread, pastries, tea, coffee, assortment of nuts and yoghurt. There was also an option for you to order freshly made omelettes and waffles.

The furniture in all parts of the hotel were of a high standard and very cosy. The bed was very comfy and the bedrooms were stocked with a good assortment of toiletries, slipper, dressing gown, hair drier, nespresso machine, iron and board, safe and a well stocked mini bar. There was also an ice machine on each floor for days when it was too warm. The gym and spa on the 5th floor is quite small but adequate for those who would like to do some cardio. The steam room and sauna could both fit about 4 - 5 people at a time and has a water machine, some fruit and telly.

The bar had a good selection of drinks and was a nice place to sit and relax after a day of sight-seeing. They also provided you with a complimentary bowl of either mixed nuts or mini pretzels which was a nice gesture. I would highly recommend this hotel to my family, friends and future travellers to Brussels.

Booked a last-minute weekend break with a friend at the Dominican, as they have very good weekend promotions and are centrally located. The hotel is a beautiful mix between design and history, with funny details such as church music in the elevator. We stayed in a standard room overlooking the courtyard. The room is beautifully designed, with wonderful beds (I believe some guests even want to buy them!) and a great shower. I'm personally not a fan of rainshowers, but was happy to find a second showerhead for guests who prefer a more conventional shower experience. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of choice and good quality products. Do try the Brussels waffle which can be ordered from the menu (all menu items are included in the price). Really friendly service here as well. During our stay, we asked for directions serveral times and were impressed by the friendliness of the front desk staff, who gave us some good recommendations in the area. A lovely hotel that makes you regret having to leave.

Dear Suzanne,
I really appreciate your lovely recommendation.
Yes, some people ask us whether they can purchase the bed!
Don't regret to leave The Dominican as long as you know you're always welcome to return...
