Booked this hotel very last minute as part of a Eurotrip. Arrived at reception only to stand there for about 10 minutes whilst the man on reception completely ignored us.
Eventually we were spoken to and given our room key. As we had heavy bags we were shown to an old creaky lift and left to find our room.
Upon opening the door, we were met with the smallest hotel room we had ever seen, it was literally a bed, a tv and a cupboard with no floor space at all.
After a long trip to the hotel my partner wanted to use the toilet, so he went and when he tried to flush it the flush did not work as the whole back of the toilet seat was cracked. To be fair the man at reception did come up and fix it straight away, but I feel this is something they should have checked before giving us the room.
We then decided to pop to the mcdonalds across the road after a long day of travelling. As soon as we stepped out of the hotel we saw two women fighting in the street and lots of adult shops - I honestly feared for my safety and I have travelled to a lot of places.
The next morning, after a freezing cold sleep in the bedroom, we went out to explore Brussels (also not really something worth doing but that's...Booked this hotel very last minute as part of a Eurotrip. The next morning, after a freezing cold sleep in the bedroom, we went out to explore Brussels (also not really something worth doing but that's for another review), and as we went to walk out of the hotel door the receptionist demanded that we leave our key with him - very odd! I then noticed there was a tall man hanging around near the reception desk looking a bit shifty but I didn't think much of it until we came back about 4 hours later and he was still there!! I did not feel comfortable giving the room key to reception, it felt as though they might be letting these people in to our rooms when we were out.
We spent 3 days in Brussels, and since we did not really feel safe leaving the hotel we spent most of those days eating crisps from the shop next door, sitting in our tiny bedroom watching BBC world news on the television.
I will never be returning to brussels again!More
