Awesome hotel with great service, big rooms and convenient location. Close to the old city center, shopping street and North railway stration. Hotel offers very good breakfast for a reasonable price, rooms look posh. Hotel looks amazing before Christmas.
I found only two minor disadvantages: not ebnough light in the room and hotel charges 50 EUR deposit per night, which returns to your bank account approximately in a week after check-out.

Hotel of a good standard. Old style, but quite and comfortable. Staff at desk or breakfast are pleasant and helpful. Forget about the view and stay on the main street or the nearby commercial street, if you go to Debroukère place. It's Brussels...

Room tip: Superior is superior in size, really quiet inside and outside

We stayed in this hotel for one night over NYE. The first room they placed us in stank SMOKE. Not only the room itself. The whole 2nd floor as we exited the elevator had this cigarette smoke smell - not like somebody had a quick smoke before checking out. Like a bunch of people were smoking there for weeks. Of course, we called and complained and were moved to a different room. I still could smell smoke through vents. And when we were checking out , we were told it was illegal to smoke in hotels in Belgium since 2014. I am having a hard time to believe that none of cleaning staff or any of hotel staff who had been in that floor noticed that smoke smell on the 2nd floor. Also, the hotels is very close to a very ugly and sketchy area of Brussels with some sex shops to mark the way. I did not feel safe there.
Having a tiny packet of Nescafe and putting a note that they will gladly replenish it for 7.50 euros is a complete disrespect to your clients.
There were some good things about the place though - the lobby looks nice and festive, the service was alright since they moved us and upgraded us after an epic fail with the first room. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was great too though the shower is a little hard to get out of. The quality of wifi was good too. Would I stay there again? Probably not. but it is an okay place.

The hotel is rather good, nice decorum, great reception... the rooms are a bit outdated for this kind of establishment, bathroom mainly requires a bit more luxury. However service is deplorable. Queues at reception, Staff joking together and pretty much ignoring you. I also had an issue with valet service that the management pretty much refused to address and ignored me mainly, despites several e mails and counter requests.... So this hotel is mainly about getting your money, but do not expect respect for the customers. Stay somewhere else.

Central hotel with great history. The entrance and the main hall are magnificent, the rooms are big with classic decoration but they need a renovation. The heating was not enough for thiw big room, the bathroom was oldfashion without very hot water, the breakfast without anything fresh like orangejuce or apple pie, could be better. And to ask money to give you extra tea bags and 50 euros per day aw a guarantee in advance...make you feel uncomfotable

Room tip: Its better to have view of the central road
