This is one of those places you have a hard time reviewing. The style of hotel is different so do you review it like "normal" hotels at that price point or as this hip chic different hotel. Therefore I have mixed reviews.
We actually stayed here twice on the same trip. I am an SPG gold so I had points to stay so I can only compare the price point to others at 10,000 points. For me the hip chic self serve was a downside to the hotel. I don't want to check in with a machine, while it could be faster if you have questions the machine can't help. Also the one big long lobby while cozy during the day is a wild noisy place at night.
So the GREAT about the place. The staff!!!!!!!! At the front desk we checked in early since our flight was in at 7 AM. We took the bus from the airport and was dropped off a very long block away. The bus at 3.50 is cheap and saved the taxi fare. The room was not ready yet but they had a room cleaned as soon as the cleaning people arrived so by 9:30 we were in. The front desk was personed by a lovely lady who was absolutely in control of the desk. She remembered my name and my wife's name everytime I passed by. She constantly asked how we were doing. Even after we left and we returned 3 days later she remembered names and prior conversations.
Room size was large like a US hotel
The good was the bed very comfortable. Also free internet was good as well as water in the room. Nice shower head with good pressure. Good neighborhood around the EU with the Metro nearby

The average was while located at the EU and Schuman Metro is nearby, it is away from the downtown area. For me not a big issues since it is about 1.2 mileas away but others look at it as far from the core. The other issue was outlets. If you have more than 3 things to charge you have to search for outlets especialy since the chair at the "desk" is about 6 feet from the outlet

The bad was small towels, no bathrobes (other Starwoods in town have them) , small closet and NO drawers so you need to live out of your suitcase.

So I am not sure I like the concept and generally I would prefer a "standard" hotel but the people made it a good place to come back

Room Tip: Stay on a high floor

Hi wwtravelerRochester,

Thanks for taking the time to write such an extensive review on your view at Aloft and your stay with us in general. I'm glad to read that, even though our design might not be your cup of tea, we were still able to impress you and make you have a great time. The fact that our staff has contributed to this in such a specific way is special to us and tells us we're doing the right thing. We'll ensure to pass on your comments and celebrate with them on a job well done!

We are indeed a little outside the old city center but with excellent public transport connections (2 metro stations within 3 mins walk) or a nice 40 minute stroll passing the EU district, royal palace, etc it's actually very conveniently located.

We do hope you will visit us again, next time your schedule brings you to Brussels. Until that time.... have any easy breezy day!

We stayed at aloft for 1 night only during the weekend. Very good experience overall. We booked through an Eurostar deal a double room for a very good price considering the hotel. The design is really nice and the room comfortable and spacious. Really like the bathroom as well as the hotel reception area and the bar. Didn't manage to try any food, so cannot comment on that, but the staff was helpful and the hotel is conveniently located, close to the tube station and to some nice squares with restaurants and bars. A couple of minor things were missing from the room (empty fridge, nothing to use to steer the coffee and no hanger for towels in the bathroom), but nothing really important. So, would definitely recommend.

Hi ValeriaLC,

What a super duper review, many thanks for taking the time to share your view here in tripadvisor!

We are glad to read that you loved the design, facilities and services we offer. We intentionally leave the fridge in your room empty so you can take anything you like into your room and create your own minibar. It prevents you from having to buy those typical hotel products at ridiculous prices.

We do hope you will choose us again, next time you are in Brussels.

Have an easy breezy day!

For a young woman travelling to Brussels for business it was a perfect hotel. It is located in the "EU" part of the city, so I felt very safe. The room was clean and spatious with the most comfortable bed you can imagine, a desk and even a bean bag. The room also comes with complimentary bottle of water and some magazines + free WiFi.
The room was in every way perfect.
The hotel personnel was very kind.

Only thing that could be improved is the breakfast in the hotel - I opted out of it as I have read that the selection is not very extensive - and that is correct. Some cereal, packed sandwiches and some fruit - that was all I saw, however, a nice 7/11 is very close by and I did not go hungry.

Hi Auryn_SI,

Thanks very much for your comments on your stay. The hotel does indeed feature free wifi everywhere, the room has hip magazines, a 42" flatscreen with plug & play so you can connect your computer, etc. and many other convenient features. Did you know that the bed was especially made for us? It's heavenly, isn't it? :-)

Thanks also for your comments on breakfast. We are reviewing our offering at the moment and will make some improvements shortly.

Have an easy breezy day!

The hotel has a very appealing design: it's stylish and playful. It has several sitting corners, a cool bar, a pool table and a game station, all in the lobby. The lobby also displays a series of alternating images on large flat screen panels, which adds to the playful atmosphere.

The rooms are quite spacy, well designed and cosy. The open bathroom effect is quite nice but eliminates a large portion of privacy (for those requiring that...)

Breakfast was good, but limited. You can only choose 5 items (e.g. 3 breads and 2 drinks). Personally I would appreciate something like buffet style with no (or higher) limits.

The location is a bit out of centre (in the Berlaymont district) but is very close to a metro that brings you right to the city center in 3 stops.

Room Tip: Parking in the street is free during the weekend! I don't understand why that isn't more pro...

Hi 19Caesar80,

Super to hear that you enjoyed your time at the Aloft Brussels Schuman to such a great extend. The design, facilities and services seem to have met your expectations which is excellent to hear.

Parking is indeed free outside the hotel over weekends, from Friday evening 6 PM until Monday morning 9 AM. A lot of weekenders use it. Alternatively we have a secured parking at a charge of 25 euro's per day, which is less than parking a full day outside on the street.

We do hope you will choose to stay with us next time round. Have an easy breezy day!

While not in central Brussels, this clean, spacious and modern hotel is just a short subway ride to downtown attractions and sights. If you are there for EU business, you are right next door. A pay garage is located next door, and various other services (express super market, patiserrie) are within a block. Wi-fi is free (as is bottled water in the room), something the pricier Starwoods properties (this is their mid range hotel brand) should emulate. Beds have comfortable down duvets as in their higher line "W" hotels. One caveat: rooms have only showers (clean, roomy with Bliss shampoo/body wash dispensers) not tubs. All in all good value for a comfortable nights stay.

Hi 19Ceasar80,

It's great to see that you had a good time when you stayed with us and particularly appreciated the design and layout of our ground floor re:mix area. Indeed, everyhing is designed to create a "loft" atmosphere without walls, including the bathroom in the rooms :-).

We are indeed located outside the old city center but as you rightfully pointed out we are only 2 metro stops away which should take you not much more than 15 minutes door to door. It's also a nice walk of approx 30 minutes if you're new in town and want to see the EU parliament, royal palace, sablon area, etc.

We do hope you will be back with us soon.

Have an easy breezy day!
