“Great seafood with reasonable price!”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

The best meal i ever had for the europe trips. I knew it before that it's and outdoor eating restaurant and thought it would be a great and fun eating experience. And it is! Wasn't surprise when i saw the crowd, it was so busy, and u have to slip in between people in front of the bar to order for the food. Just ask the staff there for recommendation, this is what i did, and ended up, we had all the signature dishes that everyone else was eating. They were all super delicious. Had a wine as well. You won't feel strange here to share a table with strangers because we are all there for the foods! We went there again before we left Brussels. It's definitely a MUST if you are in the town!

“Superb food!!!”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

We were shocked to see the crowd, queue, but the waiting was worth it!! The food is so good and CHEAP!! You need to stand and eat your food. You might need to share a table with strangers, which is kinda ok for us
We ordered sea asparagus ( a type of shelfish), escargot, croquette, tuna, scallops, soup of the day and 2 glasses of white wine for only 41Euro. The way they cook the tuna is kinda special, it is half raw. At the beginning we were a bit skeptical about it but when we tasted it , it was so good!
Tell me , where can you get so many course meals with that price??
We would loveee to visit this restaurant again in future! Just hope the price will stay the same :)

“Great outdoor eating, with slightly chaotic atmosphere”
Reviewed 30 March 2012

Great place with delicious and fresh seafood. The disadvantage is you can only eat standing behind the counter or at a few simple high tables (without chairs) so don't expect any luxury and comfort there. The ambience is simple and the menu limited but what you can find there is really delicious. I would particularly recommend their fish soup and demi-baked tuna (one of the best I ever had). Prices are reasonable - in fact, quite a bargain for this quality. Food comes fast but at busy times you will have to wait to actually get some eating space to put your plates on but you also get a chance to mix with the friendly crowd of both tourists and Bruxelloise. Great for spring and summer days. They also sell fresh and smoked fish and some salads and small dishes for take away. The place is located in St. Catherine area, famous for its fish restaurants but beware, many of these seem to be simply tourist traps. Highly recommended - and another advantage is their opening hours (until 5pm usually, if I remember correctly) which means you can eat there even if you are late for lunch by Brussels standards.

“Good but this is definitely NOT a restaurant”
Reviewed 29 March 2012

This is a place where you just stand, eat, chat and have a glass of wine or two. It is not a place where you sit down and have lunch or dinner. It is more like a tapas place.. I have been going there ever since 2006 when the bar used to be 1m long. It has now extended to about 6 or 7m and it can get busy, very busy. Expect to wait a long time on a Saturday or Sunday when the sun is out..

I am giving an average rating because first of all it is not a restaurant but the food it good. Expect to pay an amount that you cannot foresee as the prices and the bill at the end is normally illegible as it's wet by all the wine and liquids laying around the bar.. It is great fun though and I would recommend it for a snack with friends.
