My son and I stumbled upon the Maison Renardy while waiting for the nearby U.S. Embassy to replace a passport stolen on the train from Antwerp to Bruges - a common occurrence, according to everyone we met. The cafe was perfect. The coffee was hot and delicious, the almond croissants exquisite, the ambiance cheerful, the facilities comfortable and clean. All in all, a loveluy respite in a bland neighborhood.
