“Great staff, inconsistent quality”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 December 2011

I have stayed at the Golden Tulip in Zoetermeer for 2 periods of 4 weeks in 2011. I had a blast with the staff there, they are all fabulous, speak awesome English and will offer any assistance they can to make your stay better.
I generally stayed in the Suites, which are designed for longer term stays and my experience with the suites was good, although my travelling companions often did not receive the same standard of cleanliness and amenities in their rooms. They only service the suites weekly, which really is enough, but you need to be expecting it.
In the last week of my stay the restaurant kitchen seems to have imploded, resulting in very poor meals, with very apologetic waiters... they did the best they could, but it definitely reduced my respect for the hotel management.

In general, if you are heading to the Hague for a holiday, don't bother with staying in Zoetermeer, while the cost may make it attractive, the location is too far from the Hague to be convenient and not at all aesthetically pleasing, although if you are in Zoetermeer for work, being so close to the train into the Hague is brilliant if you want to escape Zoetermeer (and trust me, after 4 weeks or 8 weeks you'll want to!)

Room Tip: If you are staying more than a couple of days, the Suites with a kitchenette etc are worth it.

I sayed one night for a business trip and i was in a suite that was, in fact, an appartment of 60m. A little expensive but correct.

We stayed here during my EUROPE tour with family. Nice clean environment and as we checked in after long journey found the place quite for good sleep. This is type of budget hotel as it is far off on highway and not recommended for people who does not have own travel vehicle. If you have a car and can drive internationally this is probably one of the good option but generally all tour operators book this as you have a place to cook and park. Typical European budget hotel on highway.

lovely hotel room`s and very well cleaned, but if you do not leave your towels on floor they do not get replaced with clean ones. room kettle was not working and powered milk is not nice. breakfast cereals English and meat cheese slices. only thing is if on coach party you have to have a set meal, otherwise catch waiter on night before for to ask for something you like. they only had pork, know soup and sherbet dessert. had salmon salad and veal meat . would recommend just bed and breakfast. also take something to eat like sandwiches, as MacDonald is about 1and half hours walk. hotel in the wilds and 10 minutes walk to train station. shops on other side of concert flats block. not a nice area, but hotel very quite. nice friendly staff, but food take 3 hours to be served, this is when on coach party. went with shearrings to Dutch delights and took 16 hours to get back. as have to change 45 minutes turn around connecting onto main coach from feeder coach. if you live in the northeast takes 16 hours back travel. also the drivers where chopping and changing. so when going to their main depot they take half an hour after 15 minute stops to clean coach. the got there to early for ferry and ended up sitting on bus for an hour and half. the driver at the depot said free tea and coffee. when it rains the bus driver leaves ro wonder around and get wet for 3 hours. also went to diamond factory prices to big. need to win the lottery four times over. was meant to go to rotterdam for shopping went straight through it. went to see a windmill working and river course, but was boring. this holiday is not for kids like old aged pensioners.
