I was convinced to go on this tour from 2 young gentlemen who promised me the tour was under one hour (55 minutes) and that the tour comes in 5 different languages. I ended up at this tour company because I missed the tour down the canal (they left 7 minutes early!!!) at Rondvaart and they recommended this one to me.
I ended up on a boat with 9 Dutch people. The tour guide is a Physical Education teacher who still teaches a few days of the week. I am assuming that I was put on a different boat than planned since I doubt the man speaks 5 languages. They did do the tour in English for me.
The bridges in Leiden are not so high so you will have to duck quite a few times. Maybe 15? I lost count. The tour guide enjoys his job and was quite entertaining. They will provide umbrellas for sunny days. My tour guide assured me (I had a train to catch at a certain time) that the tour was 55 minutes. After 72 minutes, I was nervous about catching my train so they were kind enough to let me off the boat a bit earlier.
I did enjoy the majority of the tour and heard information about the city that I don't think I would have read anywhere else. This tour costs 10 euros. The one down across the canal that I mentioned earlier is 8 euros.
