We had a wide range of various traditional Chinese dishes, which were all delicious and the staff was very helpful and friendly.

We were looking forward to our first Chinese meal in Leiden after having such good meals in Amsterdam and the reviews and location (down a little side street in a fashionable arts & theatre area) seemed promising.
However the menu was difficult to follow and indicated this was a jack of all trades chino-Indonesian-thai despite the very traditional Chinese restaurant decor. As we were there specifically for chinese we order the Chinese rice table for two in an attempt to circumvent the confusing and not very helpful menu.
The chicken noodle soup was watery and lacked any proper flavour. The blackbean chicken satay was dry and the type of precooked meat you often find thrown on top of cheap supermarket microwave curries. The rice was dry and obviously microwaved. The prawn dish was drowned in yet more black bean sauce and the chicken similarly swimming in sauce, again this didnt seem like fresh chicken but the catering pack strips that have extra water injected in them to make it appear ‘tender’. Biggest disappointment was the charsui pork the pile of which which was tough dry and cold. We didnt stay for dessert, and frankly were really miffed at paying €50 (inc a beer and a coke) for such poorly prepared, poor quality ingredients. The waitress was apologetic and asked if it was too spicy but we couldn’t explain that they needed to start again from ground up

We were so impressed by the quality of the food we returned the next evening. On the first night eleven of us ate a choice including several vegi. and every one of us said the same, good friendly service and incredable fresh chinese food. If we ever go back to Leiden we will certainly eat here again.

There are quite a few Chinese restaurants near Leiden station, but I have been disappointed by their service. They are clearly targeting tourists. In contrast, this medium-sized restaurant which is tucked away in a side street very near the Pieterskerk is a much better alternative. Recommend the soups, loempia and the ti-pan dishes. I had the spicy lamb. Service was prompt and the place was full of locals which is always a good sign.

Found this restauranr with the help of google maps after a long fun filled day at a theme park. Really frienly staff with good service. We had a set rice meal which was varied and really tasty. Our son had soup, rice, noodles and pork. The restaurant was really full with a very good atmosphere and also lots of chonrse people eating there. Good food and service with a nice touch of a sweets selection at the end. A little expensive compared to uk prices othrrwise great.
