This hotel is conveniently located near the charming and old city center of Middelburg. There is plenty of (paid) parking space but the trainstation is also closeby. The room is not spacious and the bathroom is rather tiny. But the breakfast is a good compensation. As is the location. Near all the restaurants and bars. But also because of the close distance to the Delta Werken and the Oosterschelde.

The room was clean, a decent size and the bed somewhat soft but comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The staff was always pleasant and helpful. What we especially like was the outdoor seating. The seating in the back was varied and comfortable for everything from having breakfast to late nite drinks. In front of the hotel, the seating has a view of the canal. We thought the hotel was very reasonably priced for what we got.

I have just spent a long weekend in Holland with friends and had a great time. Both the Hotel de Nieuwe Doelen and Cape Helius Hotel were high quality for the money with lovely rooms and very friendly accommodating staff. It was the same everywhere we went and the restaurants served lovely food and not too expensive considering an exchange rate of 1.03 euros to the pound. Everyone seemed to be happy and relaxed and will definitely return to the Southern Netherlands. If you want a nice relaxing time not too far from home (2 hours 15 minutes from the tunnel) visit this delightful area.

The rooms were not very stylish but rather odd and 'randomly' furnished. Lacked love and real care. Some rooms we were allocated were very small. Washbasins were in the bedroom (which is fine) but the shower/toilet room very small indeed. The 'glasses' in the bedroom were plastic and sink plugs were missing. A kettle would be a nice addition. Good breakfast with a decent choice. Staff were busy but friendly and caring-enough

Excellent hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast.Value for what you get. Good easy parking close to hotel. Close to railway station and a short walk into town centre. A short drive away to the great beaches at Vlissingen.
