“Charming stay in Amsterdam”
Reviewed 5 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

Notwithstanding the slightly DIY feel about some of the fit-out of this houseboat, its cosy charm made for a very special stay in Amsterdam, and we loved our 4 nights we spent over the New Year. Our family of 5 (including 3 teenagers) was very comfortable (and all could even fit on the large red couch to watch a movie)!
Warm enough over winter, though slippers suggested for the chilly-footed. Very convenient for the beautiful Maritime museum and (kid-oriented) NEMO science museum.

“Thanks for the Memories”
Reviewed 30 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Would definitely stay here again! Added to the whole "Canal 'Experience"!

Traveling with my wife and three children in their 20's

The Canal / House Boat is near perfect because it is in a relatively very quiet area (we are talking off season but would guess close to the same at Peak Season?) and a short walk to the Maritime Museum and a mid sized grocery market. Also a good few local neighborhood restaurants be it for dinner or brunch. A healthy walk to all the main sites as well.

Even greater, it is not in a crowded Marina or tourist type area.

There is one other Canal Boat tied up "next door" but on the other side there is a "No Boat Parking" sign so that insures more privacy and quiet. (Maybe in the summer this may be a brief drop off point?)

Getting on deck and below, we had automatic sensor lighting and felt very safe at night.

Great place to relax and with purchased groceries and wine, you can sit back and relax.and the living room sits maybe 6 adults? Nice wooden dining room table off from the kitchen / galley.

On a clear morning (November 40's) you can look out the Portholes on the East side and see a great sunrise and often a few quiet ducks just a few feet away.

For our November stay, it was also easy to regulate the heat as we like it on the cool side but you can get it toasty inside as well.

5 of us adults: One Master Bedroom, a single bed ("midship") and a unique good sized bed in the Pilot House area topside plus a long soft couch in the living room.

The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and wine glasses and extra blanket / comforters and pillows if needed. Plenty of large towels and toilet paper.

The entry and enclosed stairs on Deck going below is a bit narrow for us likely oversized Americans but it is a boat and not difficult. The Deck has chairs but if a chilly morning, take it slow if a bit slick on deck boarding or "going ashore".

If you are taller than 6 feet, you need to tip a bit walking around but normal on most boats.

The shower is somewhat small but again "boat sized" and works great. Doors for privacy.

Comfortable living room and very good kitchen. Laundry washer-dryer are good for small loads and the wash cycle a bit long but no complaints.

We were very satisfied with our stay!

“Great location and accommodation”
Reviewed 8 November 2016 for a stay in May 2016

5 of us stayed here for 6 nights and a thoroughly great time. The houseboat and everything you coukd possibly want, plenty of room both inside and o deck. The bath in the main bedroom was a nice touch. Location wise it's very close to the Central Station and lots of restaurants and bars.

Would be a great stay for families of groups.

Our host Frank was very helpful both before and during our stay.

If yiu are looking for a unique accommodation experience close to the centre of Amsterdam and for a great price then I would recommend staying there.

“Perfect!”
Reviewed 8 October 2016 for a stay in October 2016

We had an awesome time in Amsterdam. Unfortunately, we had a lot of rain. But thanks to the wonderful houseboat, equipped with all necessary things to live, it didn't influence our moods. In the kitchen we found everything to create good meals and otherwise spend a lot of time in the living area. We were also very happy to hear that it is possible to bring more people than described. What we really appreciated. All our questions were answered very fast and the hosts are very flexible. We can definitely recommend this location as a perfect spot to everyone, who would like to have a special time in Amsterdam.

“Fabulous Time”

This was my first booking through trip adviser. I wanted to find a houseboat for my trip to Amsterdam, so I looked here.

Booking was easy and quick. Frank gave me precise instructions on how to get there, and how to get inside.

I didn't follow his instructions because I had to do it my way. It would have been much easier to take the bus from the train station, but I took a taxi. I took the bus when I left.

The boat is fabulous. It's easy to get to. It's much bigger than I expected. I had tagged a couple of days in Amsterdam on another trip, and it was wonderful to be able to get out of a hotel and relax in this houseboat.

You can cook and do your laundry. The furnishings are comfortable and roomy. I slept like a baby. Everything you need is provided. It's clean and the shower is fairly roomy and the water is hot-hot-hot.

I'd love to return and stay longer. By the way, I get vestibular migraine and was worried about the boat rocking and messing with me. I never noticed it move, and I get seasick on elevators.

You're in the Northwest section of Amsterdam here, near the maritime museum. You can walk down Prins Hendrikkade then take a left to easily get anywhere you want to get in the city.

My only advice to other travelers is the ceiling isn't going to work if you're very very tall. Beyond that the whole thing was a heavenly experience. I'm looking forward to returning.
